The ancient myths of the Serres Prefecture, Greece

This here place, hiding a big secret. It happened at times of high past, then you and the gods were still kids and toyed.

In a meadow that precedent in beauty can't be seen today human eye, play nymphs and goddesses. The Nysio field called, like “desired” I would describe myself Hostage and grandfather will tell us the names of young girls who were playing amerimna there. Was the Electra, the Fainw and Leucippe and Rodeia, the Ianthe, the Kalliroi, the Iachi and the fate, the Ianira, the Meliti, the Chrysiis, the Akasti and Milobasis, the rodochroi and Wkyroi Admiti, the Plouto, the Styx and the Rhodope Mountains, the ravishing Calypso, the Urania and the Galaxayra the welcome and the egersimacha Palace and the toxotria Artemis!

The wind caressed their rich hair, the Sun did shine, anakateyontan of the Meadow scents with the voices and the laughter of little girls. As that among the beautiful and fragrant flowers that have been collecting the girls, singled out one like this ever not made the Earth. Daffodil said later. From the root of xefytrwnan stalks one hundred, and so eywdiaze, who agalliazan the gods, people, up the deep sea theoskoteini.

First “the daughter”, the only one not you I named before and Helene Persephone, He bent down to pick it up and put it in the basket of. But all of a sudden started a rumbling chilling, all prairie began to tremble, the Earth opened and long beach emerged a chariot with terrible noise. Was he the King of the underworld. Hades and his name means he who does not seem. She grabbed her daughter and went to his basilio, to make her his wife. The daughter turned out great voice and tears, but no one listened.

Is the myth of Persephone. The Mpoyrkert, the Nilsson and Kerenyi, of the greatest researchers of Greek religion and mythology would write unequivocally, that he see the myth is the most ancient of human thought. Probably dates back to the Neolithic era. The Mpoyrkert in his book “Ancient Greek Religion”, We write that Mannhardt and Frazer gathered a huge amount of world mythology, in cases of fruit cycle. Nowhere could find something to connect with the mother and daughter relationship.

Why I write all this; But why this beautiful world that was suddenly and scary, It is somewhere in the plain of Serres. The Nysio field, where was the abduction of her daughter is somewhere North of Paggaio as we write the Appian. In this place the Greeks had the oldest maybe legend. Why does; Does and it's that ancient King Pelasgus of Argos, Aeschylus described to us and that we wrote in an article on the subject prehistory of our country;

But it's not the only legend that connects the mythic thought, of the ancient world with the Valley of the Struma. God Strymon River as we write in the Theogony Hesiod, the chaste Struma as we write Aeschylus, flowing side on guitars pangeo, in igatheon Nysiion, in the Nysio field, the Territory Sylews… God Strymon River which is the father of one of the nymphs that were playing along with Persephone that terrible day. He is the father of Rodopi. Oh and all the “lower Struma” called “Dance of the nymphs”. The Rhodope Mountains the acquired smigontas with the Muse Euterpe, with the Muse of music. Rodopi has two brothers. Two basilopoyla of Thrace. The Olynthos and Riso. And if we don't know the Riso, It is because we have not sufficiently Greek religious tradition. The religious tradition of our nation, had the hero at a level between gods and humans. Each city had the hero's protector, each Guild also, but the neighborhoods, families, There was the teichofylakas Hero who protected the city walls, the policeman who protected the boundaries etc… The heroes of the Greeks had been affect so much the barbarians, the Persians as they come to Greece, they made libations to the heroes of Troy. There was but a single hero who was a hero of all Greeks. There was no tomb. He found him everywhere. The worshipped in all cities of Greece. Shrines and temples are scattered, wherever you set foot in Greek. The cult of surpassed and Greece. Romans, Etruscans, but in the East yet, his name and worship of traveled beyond this empire still m. Alexandrou. The Greeks the hoisted on Olympus. They did two libations for him, one like God and one as a hero! He was Hercules.

Such was the hero for the Rhesus of Thrace Thracians. The sophist Philostratus the younger, passed from Thrace, the third or fourth century, He wondered with prices etychaine from the Thracians the Rhesus afirwismenos anymore, and timwntan as doctor, God of the hunt, of horses, soldiers and like alexikakos generally. But the Athenians and after the Spartans in Amphipolis had the Riso for prostate Hero. The mythical Riso, through the Greek poetry first encountered him in the Iliad. From the plain of Serres travels to Troy to fight on the side of the Trojans but cannot keep up. Evening arrives and falls to sleep. In the camp of Trojans, pass secretly Odysseus with Diomedes and the second kills him while sleeping. More will learn from the swmeni tragedy which attributed to Euripides and which has named Rhesus.
First of all also clarified the origin of:

“Re’ the winds dernomenos
the pageroys of Thrace, Paionia and”
“Around the Pangeo
and the Paionioys Plains”

But through the tragedy that takes us the myth of the hero, Learn interesting aspects of both the myth, and worship that obtained at the place of. Muse's mother speaks and says:

“After, When I gave birth to my sisters I was ashamed that I was without a husband and I got and let the dancing waters of your father. And not in the Struma gave human hands to grow but to anathrepsan the daughters of sources. And become King of Thrace, first among all men, my child.”

I stress that the Struma gave the Riso on Pupae to raise and to revert to the lower Strymon is dancing Nymphs, The nymphs who play along with Persephone in Nysio field (that is called Nysio of Nysiidwn, which are the nymphs who raised Dionysus). Filled with Grubs (with several names like for example in the Darnakochwria call kalotkes) is the modern folk tradition in this place.

Diomedes destroy the Riso in his sleep.

But after the tragedy, gives us some weird religious cult of details Risos. The companions of the bring to his homeland to bury him, but his mother will ask for pardon from Persephone for her son:

“He won't get on the all-black earth soil,
This request will make the bride of katou world,
the daughter of the goddess Demeter who gives all the fruits,
Let my soul to this here…”

And below will tell us, What will be the position of the Risos within eternity:

“Hidden in the bowels of the Earth asimoflebis
like anthrwpodaimwn It lies and will be alive, like
Prophet of Bacchus left the cliffs of Pageos,
kalodiathetos God for those people will know him well.”

The translation of the text is from the Zitros and anthrwpodaimwn versions translate as “anthrwpotheos”. But the Greek tragic in our prototype the Group clearly teaches:

“…kryptos (d)’ chthonos ypargyroy in antrois of
anthrwpodaimwn keisetai Gazer faos,
Bacchus Prophet so Paggaio rock…”

As anthrwpodaimwn well cherished the Rhesus in place and across from the sanctuary of, There is the sanctuary of the mother of the Muse, in another version is the Cleo. There are three other versions of the mother of Risos. Three Muses. The Calliope (EC of the: good + wps = this with beautiful eyes), the Muse of Epic poetry, the Euterpe (EC of the: EV + terpw, Welcome to terpw, Thanks), the Muse of music and Lyric poetry, and Terpsichore (EC of the: terpw + dance, the dance by terpoysa), the Muse of dance and Orchisews. The shrine of Clio which is found in Amphipolis, as has been found outside the walls, near the Struma, a shrine of the nymphs, with a jar at the Center, of which has removed the bottom and which has sunk to the rim of the, in the Holy Land. And in Pangeo know that there was an Oracle of Bacchus.

We turn again to the beginning of the myth that we began, in thanks that makes Persephone to the hero of the land from which he was kidnapped. But the strimon Valley has inspired the mythical man, and around the Meander forming, We have to tell many wonderful, bizarre and sometimes grotesque stories, for which you will write soon.

Just before I close this text, I would like to write to you and something I have not noticed many researchers, but certainly knew very well the Greeks and maybe the great interest and the cult in Riso. The Rhesus you say, According to Homer as a human rather than divine origin (divine origin of his father Struma), He was the son of Iionea, who was the son of Thessalian Magnes. And here is our secret. Magnis is one of the six children of Aeolus and Enaretis. Not of Aeolus, the God of the winds, but the Aioloy of Thessaly, the son of Greek! His grandfather Risos, He was the grandson of Greek! The Rhesus is the Greek triseggono, the progenitor of the Greeks!

The sanctuary “the nymph” located outside the northern wall of Amphipolis, a few meters by the North Gate. In the Center we distinguish the submerged jar.

“… and now you raise Paggaiw as botani, Guitar called, the aitian in lifelong: Orpheus Diasparaxasai, members of the proeirimenoy at the ebalon River ebron, and the head of man, When pronoian gods, at the Dragon changed the form of the body, the Lyra katestiristhi, When Apollo proairesin, EC no blood enefani botani reystantos, Guitar called, the Rule is not performed, without this guitar anadidwsin, the d’ Home peribeblimenoi thyrsoys ktratoyntes nebridas, adoysin ' hymns, and then froniseis, When average fronwn, as full time c Kleitwnymos’ the tragic”.

Plutarch “On Rivers”
Onto our Pageo says Plutarch grow a herb called guitar. It is a result of basting of the mountain from the blood of Orpheus, When this dismembered the Maenads. This woman turns out guitar sounds, when committed the Dionysia mysteries and then the locals are wearing animal skins, and keeping thyrsoys chant hymns.

Priestess of Bacchus in 19th-century painting, dressed with pelt and keeping thyrso.

It is the birth after death, It is the eternal circle of life, as he saw the Greek national tradition. The guitar and music, made from the blood of the dead Orpheus.
But the same pageOn so named from a mythical hero who looks on Oedipus. Is another ancient myth. And I will explain, After the recount.
The Paggaios was the son of the God Mars and Kritoboylis, and unwittingly became a tragic aimomiktis, not with his mother as Oedipus, but with the daughter of. To punish himself, instead for voluntary blindness chose death. Suicide mpigontas the sword in his insides, on the condition that until then was called Karmanio and from there and after she got his name.
“The first thygatri’ edramen s Karmanion syggenomenos agnoian term spasamenos and exceedingly regrets the sword itself aneilen…”
Plutarch “On Rivers”
This myth is ancient, because it is a myth prwtosyneidisis. Is the man who understands the affinity. While the animals, from where comes and our species, mated once adults between them. so the Paggaios, didn't kill himself, But kill the animal inside him, When acknowledged paternal relationship with daughter.
This term well, pangeo, They both praised, We know that had an Oracle of Dionysus. This worked and in historical times. It was under the supervision of the Thracian sheet name “Satres”, While according to Herodotus were famous Satres Bissoi, his priestly sex God Dionysus. The relationship of Dionysus in our place we know that was a special. We know that the gods they worshipped particularly in our area were four. Aris, Dionysus, Artemis and their Royal houses of Hermes. For Dionysus now the Manti and our place, We read a story of Homer from g’ Rhapsody of Iliad:

“…What neither the Lycurgus was able, Dryanta son of anchovies,
happy birthday to live, as the ' Vale with the gods in the celestial.
The holy mountain of Nysas Once they put the Dionysos,
bakcheyti of God, kynigise᾿ and eytys these all
cast their thyrsoys toys᾿ underfoot and Lykourgos antrofonias
with the goad of the stirred, and Dionysus fobithi
and in shore boytaei᾿ and Thetis in dechti in agali
skiagmeno᾿ what the voices were shaken in excess of Lykourgou.
With this triseytychoi gods were angry but then,
and the son of Saturn the etyflwse᾿ happy birthday again.
But not lived, what the immortals in all ochtreytikan.”

Of course mount Nysa, (Igatheon Nysiion, Nysio field) We know that it is in our County, but he swmenos from apollodoros myth won't leave us in no doubt:
“Lykourgos de Pais Dryantos, Hedoni King, the Strymon River paroikoysi, first exelaben this ybrisas. Whilst at sea and Dionysus to Thetin…”
The legend who is saved from many sources, It is a classic myth disrespect towards the gods, which leads naturally to crash the mortal, in tragedy. Besides this legend inspired the great tragwdo Aeschylus to write a trilogy with the tragedies Edoni – Bassarides – Neaniskoi Ki a satirical drama named Lycurgus.
Lykourgos well, Our region's typically Thracian King, It showed disrespect trying to banish worship of God from his Kingdom (in some versions of the myth, means to kill him). God left momentarily from place of terrified and found protection from Thetis. But Lykourgos with this Act aroused the wrath of the gods who echthreythikan. In conclusion the Lykourgos blinded, While most tragic narratives, Mad God and like another Ajax, thinking that cuts klimatsides, kills his relatives, his own child, and came to the logical when they started to beat with the axe and his own foot. When he saw what he did then was blinded. A third variant wants God to dry the land and this not giving fruits. He sued through his Oracle, that will not xanaginotan fertile land, If not punished with death Lykourgos. Then they took the King of the Edoni and imposed to horrible death in Pangeo, where “katasparachtike from horses”.
But if the oldest myths we have the perpetual cycle of nature, the consciousness, in the myths of mortals, the fate of standing there and lurks with tragedy. No one can be quiet and only one should be sure, that any joy in life, is obligated to pay with equal regret. And as a great pleasure, so greater and the regret. Such story will tell you in next post. A tragedy that happened in these soils bask and don't know, If it inspired someone big or smaller tragwdo, to be taught at the theatre of Amphipolis.

A tragedy.

The attic is the tragedy have been more considerate product
that saved to create man on the planet,
throughout its history…

(D). Liantinis

The Attica tragedy created through myths, like him that took place in the land of pure Struma. A legend that you relate immediately now.

“Why est᾽ ἀrchaios ἀnthrwpwn apparent hand,
as if aIwn᾽ ekmathois brotwn oyk, If before
thani the, christos oyt᾽ eI eI oyt᾽ tw bad;”

Thus begins the Sophocles tragedy of women of Trachis, you go to tell the new performance, How “There's a reason why ancient Greeks,

that of people living, before anyone dies,
good if it was poor, you know you can't.”

And our story begins inside the belly of the Trojan horse. There along with Diomedes, Odysseus and Menelaus, It was crammed and the most brave lads of the achaeans. One of them was the Demophon of Athens, son of the hero Theseus and Faidras. His name means Dimofown = Demophon of Athens municipality (place, people) + fows (light, Flash), “the light of the people, He illuminates his people”. The Demophon had on the side of his brother the Akamas. In Troy led them a shared secret. When the evening opened the hatch and antrokardoi the Achaeans came out from the wooden horse, ran at the gate of Ilion, the opened and poured inside the army of Agamemnon. Screams and fires and looting, but the two brothers were not taking anything, I wanted something to their left hands, had the eyes nailed in women, until in the bonfires and the crowd, They recognized the person who longed. Aethra was, their grandmother. Had kidnap the Paris, When kleftike with Helen. The Aethra had gone in Helen's Palace the Castor and Pollux. The two lads didn't get any loot from Troy. Only their Grandma. Such agreement made.

The brothers Demophon and Acamas liberate their Grandma Aethra.

So the Demophon took the road of returning to Athens. On the way back from the land of Odomantwn, who exoysiazan the plain East of the Strymon. There the College hosted Fyllis, daughter of their King of Sithonia. Was fulminating love of basilopoylwn. They say how did two guys together and that means in the fertile plain, ruled by the foothills of Pageos, until those conditions Menoikioy.

As that one day came a news on dimofonta, how the throne in Athens emptied and that we should hold sway. Cold sweat washed beautiful Fyllis, as the Demophon gave oath, that will turn into a month that and if you qualify. We take care to be given safely to his homeland the throne elsewhere and he will turn to reigned together with his beautiful wife, in this place. Fyllis gave him to have with him a box, I asked though to open only if you decide not to turn back. It was the same Rhea strange this gift.

But on the street caught Gale, than the angry Poseidon after the Trojan sent in all the achaeans, with first Ulysses. So his ship arrived in Cyprus Demophon. The days went by and the Sun had set 29 times on Mount Dyswron, forming those rough and majestic Sun dyseis. Such that make the pain of NOSTOS, to become heavier in the breasts of lovers. The thirtieth day which was the last of the deadline he gave himself the Demophon in himself, the Princess, got the Strymon and reached up to the sea. Vainly waited as I caught the nychtia. Any ship not seemed Strymon Gulf. Took the road of returning, dianyktereyontas in the first city of the Kingdom of the sea. Nine streets called the city and gave nine fyllis curses to the Athenians, within the infinite sadness. But the bore in love not news to turn the Palace of. They found the morning, throughout an arid one almond tree. Others said he died of grief, other how hung in this almond. However, the gods transformed itself in almond. From the top of the nine streets, to gaze from the sea, did and turned her beloved, on the other hand believes the Kingdom left.

The Demophon does not ever forgot the promise to his beloved. So although it was returned to their Kingdom. In the nine streets though the sued the bad news. Then ran and embraced with such momentum dry almond tree that she pulled out again leaves. Amid the sadness of the Demophon wanted to see what was the box that gave him the beloved, Although she told him to open it, only if you decide not to turn back. Just opened the box, While he was riding on his horse proud Thrakiotiko, that afionistike and threw him onto his own sword.

The Odomantes in honor of their Queen, They called around that place East of their Prefecture, Phillis, and even today that the State province name province Fyllidos.

They say that the first of the nine Fyllidas curses the Princess was suicide, just found out about the death of her grandson. But historians in the future, the saw clean. The one place that say Nine streets, the Athenians settled him after centuries and named Amphipolis. Nine times the Athenians were defeated in war. From the Peltasts of Drabiskoy with ten thousand dead, until the crash and the death of Cleon and as they gave the Amphipolis victory of Sparta in the Peloponnesian War, driving the great Athens in decline.

The Demophon gave oath to the gods, for something I did not know that he will be able to perform, instead of giving a nice reply and ask the beautiful woman of patience and faith, on measures of mortals. So as closes the Sophocles ' tragedy Antigone, will close and I this myth that I narrated:

Wisdom in happiness is the most important.
Have the gods not to show disrespect.
Always great words of mortals
with great misfortunes will be paid,
so that the passage of time
will teach the wisdom.

The myth has many variations. For example – the suicide, about his brother Demophon, the Adamas and indeed in Cyprus. My own choice is to tell him so with excerpts of versions, instead of dry academic presentations of these scenarios. The myth is mainly what: Narrative.

Dionysus – the mythical God of mirth of feasting and mirth.

Posted by

The ancients our ancestors were deified several moments and aspects of daily life or social life and things you couldn't if you interpret or justify passed through the works and creations like mythology "gods and imithewn».

In Greek mythology, In addition to the twelve gods of Olympus, that was the most important, There were other gods not residing in divine this mountain. One of them was and GodDionysos. Was the most jovial of the gods and of the most loved people and offered a vineyard and wine

The hilarious God travelling sequel, visiting many countries and States to learn people how to cultivate the vines and how to make from their fruit wine. And, of course,, as a God of joy and mirth, I was traveling alone. The follower a bustling crowd.

The crowd that you saw women who danced with Berserker way, the Maenads as was, and strange beings who were people and animals together, that they were called Satyroys and Silinoys. Sometimes depicted sitting right hand of the father in Olympia lofts.

THE Dionysos as a mythological entity "is neither child nor no man, but eternal teenager, occupying a position between the two». With this form, represents "the spirit of energy and transformational power of game ' full of cunning, deception and strategies that indicate either divine wisdom or the archetype of «katergari», present in almost all mythologies around the world.

Stalwarts of God start along with him on long trips. I head the Dionysus crossed the Egypt, the Libya other countries in Africa. Then they went and Asia, in Arabs, inLydoys, in Phrygians, reaching up and India, where the most daring Navigator failed to reach.

Elsewhere the welcome friendly, their laughing or elsewhere were like enemies. But always there was the goodness of Dionysus and his companions. Fast symfiliwnontan with residents, they learnt how to cultivate the vine. The wonderful drink he God dread everywhere the fun. Made people forget their sorrows and emblazoned on their faces smile. Where she started trikoyberto feasting and not were other anything despite the cheerful sounds of musical instruments and the vivid songs.

So how can these people not worshiped the God; And it was God, Although his mother was a mortal, theSemele, the daughter of the King of Thebes Cadmus. THE Dionysos However gained immortality, that buoyed the gods from mortals and because his father was the Jupiter but more because it was born from God the second time. As strange as it sounds, the Dionysos twice born.

When the Jupiter ensnared by the virginal beauty Semele, approached and joined with her. Fruit of their Union was theDionysos. The Ira, however, wasn't going to leave but forgivable that the infidelity of her husband. Blinded by jealousy and revenge dipswntas, appeared in Semeleand with cunning way persuaded her to ask her lover to appear as God, not with human form, as always appear in front of. This will prove that she really loves.

Naive and unsuspecting daughter Cadmus, the next time you visited the Jupiter in the kamara, asked him to get the divine form of. Vain tried Zeus with words of love to dissuade. Bending forward at the insistence of appeared majestic, bright throughout the divine greatness. But it was impossible to endure the lacking mortal Flash of lightning and strike that ektinassontan from his hands. At a time when the flames on the wound Jupiter saved the infant she had in her womb and the thigh of them.

When completed nine months, Dionysus xanagennithike from the foot of the divine father. The King of Immortals knew very well that the jealous wife will quickly turned their anger on the newborn child. So we commissioned Hermes the keeping of. He handed it to her sister Semele,την Ino. The crafty Juno though sent craze in Ino and her husband and began mercilessly kill their children. The goddess had hoped that will kill so and Dionysus, but the winged God went and rescued the little Dionysus and confided this time at Nymphs.

They raised him with great affection and love, in the forest where he lived. Indeed, nowhere else we could not imagine growing God of the vine, Despite an idyllic landscape filled with trees and colorful flowers. There can never meet people. And when the King Lykourgos disturb the tranquility of pet chasing the Nymphs, katatromazontas theDionysus, punished hard by the Jupiter, which the blinded. So tough was always the punishment for all those people who epiboyleyontan God Dionysus.

The same bad luck also had some Tyrrinoi pirates who captured the God. When they saw a new so beautiful and Husky, they believed that this is some archontopoylo or even King. Happy thinking that will reap many ransom to release him, they tried to tie with heavy chains, but to accomplish· with a slight movement of the God was shaking over it. The amyaloi mortals however continue their efforts.

Only the Wheelman of boat tried to reintroduce them to the logical: "You don't see amyaloi how it is God; Don't be afraid of punishment; It can be even Neptune, that we will avenge our boat into throwing wild tempest. The best that we have to do is let him free ".

The captain and the other does not agree to let them leave "such treasure". At that time began to flow in boat red wine that stunned with the divine scent of sailors. At the same time a Klima began to wrap the mast and spreads loaded with juicy grapes branches throughout the boat. Watched bemused while the sailors, another miracle is before their eyes: the handsome young man who wanted to capture transforms into a fierce lion that the brychithmoi make the sailors to jump overboard to escape.

All transformed theDionysos in dolphins and not only felt mattered by rewarding him for his wisdom. As we have seen, Dionysus was loved and adored by people because they enjoyed the great taste of wine. They say that for the first time showed the King ofAetolia, the Oeneus. The tsopanis of, stafilos, had found a strange plant full of fruit and excited by the spiciness brought them and the King to thank him.

THE Oineas estypse zoymeroys them off and enjoyed the rich their juice. Since then Dionysus named him the wine and fruit juice grapes by the name of tsopani. Always with thyrso in a hand and a pot of wine in other cities had been browsing. Where find hospitable and friendly people, the learning how to make wine. So was and with residents of Ikaria,in Attiki, They greeted him with enthusiasm. Shortly before leaving their place, He advised the King in Icarian to preserve well the wine that made. But he did not follow his advice – "what harm can come from such an enjoyable drink!"thought.

The tsopanides of, someday, they found the barrels and drank so much wine that got drunk and started behaving with wild way. Having lost their sensible killed Icarian and his daughter Erigone from the heartache of suicide. The inhabitants of Ikaria particularly venerated the God Dionysus· in this area was cultivated much the dithyramb, the hymn to God, who composed the musical Arion. Indeed, They added something new. In music this anthem added lyrics. And because this composition the sang people disguised in Satyroys called tragomorfoys tragedy.

Of Course, devotional events for the God of the vine were, and in many other areas. Those who attended these events had to participate actively drinking wine and dancing under the influence of intoxication. Those who refused, were enemies of God and have attracted the wrath of. So, tragic end found Pentheawho wanted to keep hidden the orgiastic feasts. The Maenads, one of which was the mother of, in the frenzy that had occupied, pounced on and devoured. Persistently refused to take part in the devotional rites the King's daughters Minos, as the King Proitoy. The Prosblimenos Dionysosthe did lose their logical. Others say that for the fury that captured the young daughters of Proitoycause was the Juno.

Hard Punisher shows the Dionysos his enemies and those who are opposed to the way worship. At the same time generous benefactor to those who honor him and thank him.

When the King Midashosted his teacher, the old man Silino, that was lost, He agreed to fulfill his desire to thank him. The avid Midasasked to what, what he catches turns into gold. Soon the poor guy found that would become fabulously rich but would die of hunger and thirst. The bread that was touching to eat turned to gold and water she wanted to drink in Golden drops. Repentant asked God to make him as before and Dionysus who pitied told him that if he bathed in the waters of Paktwloythe River will offload the torments of.

God of feasting had many erotic adventures, like the other gods. The women in his life had a different location: There were safety pins when he was young and his fellow f ' nonstop celebrations of.

I once fell in love with the beautiful Ariadne,When he saw her sleeping calmly and serenely, looking like Goddess. His daughter Minos along with the Theseus returning to the Athens from the Crete. Waking up one morning to Naxosthe Ariadne see how her partner left and abandoned. Without knowing the same, He had come Dionysos (f) ' dreamTheseus and threats forced him to flee to his beautiful new.
All alone as it was in the desert island, like the Savior God appeared in front of, new, stocky, crowned as usual with trailing Ivy. After their wedding was, thrown by the chariot of God towards heaven.

The earth people were thanking him for the gift of the divine and the peace that their generously spread. The celebrations that were held in honor of was an unrelenting revelry, where all methoysan and sang. In this way were trying to communicate with their Dear God. Information that we hire from the Linear 2nd lead us to the assumption that the Dionysos as ancient deity was already known in the 12th century

The cult of the associated with the celebrations of vegetation, of the Holy madness caused by the drinking of wine and fertility. Common element in devotional practices is the point of Ecstasy, Sometimes the orgiastikis frenzy, that releases from the care of everyday life, giving the name Lysios.Apart from the fact that his name was associated with one of the finest forms of Greek speech, the drama in honor of organized metaloprepeis celebrations, like the "Dionysia" in fields, the ' Lenaia», "Flower Festival" and the "Dionysia".

There are three main forms, that shows theDionysos in the cult of. With emblem the phallus , the tree-hence the name Dendrite- or the Bull is a God of fertility and protector of crops, mainly the vine. In the second form is the enthoysiastikos Dionysos, with the emblems thyrso and theTorch, as well as the sequence, of The Maenads, of Play "Bacchae", of Thyiadwn, of Linwn and of Bassaridwn, like carrying the mythological narration. In the third and oldest form of entity of the underworld and bring the name Zagreus (the great Hunter).

He is the son of katachthonioy Jupiter and of the Persephone. In this third form Orfikoi the incorporated as their principal divinity, coming in contrast with the dionysiastes, fans of exhilarating Dionysus

With the Dionysus God of trees and plants made the return to "animality passion» of nature, away from the restrictions and references the "streamlining", something that distinguished directly at Bacchae of Euripides. With the name «bromios» latreythike mainly as a God born from the grain ' bromos ' and the alcoholic beverage that is produced, without being sure what exactly is this grain, probably was the oats

Τι συμβολίζει η αρπαγή της Περσεφόνης από τον Πλούτωνα;

amfipoli-arpagi
The amazing Macedonian tomb of Amphipolis found the mythological expression that shows the abduction of Persephone by Pluto. Same with the expression of Royal Tombs at Aigai! Only at Aigai is painting in Amphipolis mosaic. It should, however, like to emphasise another important difference: In relation to all the respective performances of this myth, not only at Aigai, but in vessels or elsewhere, only in Amphipolis Riches is the laureate! It may be no coincidence that! If therefore implies a glorious death, I suggest the endoxotero of all deaths.

With each commitment to humility of an unskilled, This article was written shortly after the revelation of Persephone in the mosaic of Amphipolis. Participate in the discussion of unskilled, no special, and, as such, does not address at all the archaeological work, Alas! But he wants to make some comments on ... observations and published by specialists and non-, always in everything,What is the myth of Persephone and the reason parastainetai in Amphipolis, We don't want to say anything about the actual tomb, only t "necessary connecting factors matter:

Although they have excavated more than a hundred Macedonian tombs, only at Aigai and Amphipolis shows the representation of Persephone! So to be "hallmark" of a certain dynasty. As the laureate Pluto, This means something, It cannot be a coincidence. Clearly define a dividing line between the tombs of Kings and, from the other, the graves of generals, of officials or of the rich. So if the expression implies that the "abduction of Persephone" is used only in the Tomb by members of the Royal family of the Macedonians, will be confirmed or disproved in the end of excavation.

For the moment, even thinks or hopes, No one dares to say that it is the tomb of Alexander, because historical sources nowhere report transfer of remains of Macedonia.

Our theme is: What job does the "abduction of Persephone by Pluto" in a funerary monument and even in "replay; That the show is not on another Macedonian Tomb, but it is in Amphipolis, does that mean the lodger belongs to the Royal family the Temenids; If Yes, why in Amphipolis and not at Aigai;

The answer is not at all easy, at least for now. Impression indeed cause countless "kotsanes" that incident involving countless locals and foreign specialists, archaeologists or teachers of reputed universities, articles or analysis of which host famous newspapers and magazines. Impression causes the sebastiki and view these "scientific opinions" from the domestic media who (chazocharoymena, you would think) show the one and the other theory cultivating supposed magic and awe that causes the monument, but cultivating the overall confusion. Not only is that they all have ruled before finishing the work of excavation (act constituting an unscientific, and unethical behavior, Anyway) is that in practice they proved their incompetence in the reading of ancient Greek Thought. Do linear view of history, Unlike the philosophy of Hellenism that is circular. The aposymbolismos of ancient legends and paintings or mosaics expressions illustrating the ancient myths, is, as it seems, unknown to the scientific community, unknown even to lovers of ancient Greece! In this case, in the face of Persephone who grabs the Pluto, looking at the ... Roxane. Other, After, says that, not, Roxane descended from today's Afghanistan, Hence cannot be kokkinomala, Therefore it is the Olympics that descended from the continent and was the mother of Alexander the great! Other sees in the face of mercury the same Alexander at a young age. WHAT,what being "Yes! Scientist is, What,what they're saying! Who will challenge;

The General Secretary of the Ministry of culture, Lina Mendoni explains that this show has symbolic importance and may indicate some relationship of the deceased in the grave with the Macedonian Royal House. "We find the scene of the abduction of Persephone in the mural of the so-called tomb of Persephone, in the Royal Cemetery of Aigai. We have a second display with Pluto and Persephone, in a scene the sacred marriage, the marble throne, the tomb of Eurydice, Philip's mother, στις Αιγές. The political symbolism is very powerful in all seasons. The clean burial theme with Persephone is linked to the cults of the underworld and the Dionysiac rites in which the priest was the head of the House of Macedon "stressed the Secretary General.

Very properly! Only that "the abduction of Persephone" does not relate only to the Dionysiac rites, as Mrs Mendoni notes, connected with the Orfikes. It was the main topic in the eleusinian Mysteries, where worshipped Ceres and Persephone along. Also no coincidence, After the Kings of Macedon, Therefore and Alexander, He was privy to the Cabeiri Mysteries, which was not at all different from the eleusinian, proof that "the abduction of Persephone" is common. The Cabeiri Mysteries the Macedonian Kings member served as high priests. Very important information! The question now is: Could join "the abduction of Persephone by Pluto" in a (Macedonian) Tomb, the lodger which wouldn't be high priest of the eleusinian mysteries Kaviria or; The answer is categorical: Not. Thus the tomb of Amphipolis definitely belongs to the tenant in the Royal family of the Temenids and, definitely, sigoyrotata, It is not some general, is not Ifaistiwna, Neither Nearchou, Neither Roxanne, Neither of Cassander, nor other. Did the Olympiad; Could be in the Olympics, If there wasn't in the middle of the Leo. Does, then, his son Alexander; Could the small tomb was the son of Alexander, If he had he could become high priest of Kaviria Mysteries! It is clear, however, that he did not, After amoystako child murdered. So is neither indeed.

That being the case... Let's take things from the beginning and let's remember the ancient legend that recounts the abduction of Persephone by Pluto. From the narration that something can come out ...

The myth of Persephone

Persephone was the daughter of the goddess Demeter and Zeus. Zeus decided to make his own Dimitra that, Although Belle, disregards for men, If it is possible! What to do and he; Transformed into a bull! Sue says, not content with half measures the Lady, exceptional qualifications are needed here, not interested in men the woman, (e), cannot, a bull will sit ntabrantismeno, will tell me a song. The calculation of proved infallible. What would God incidentally if they could not see into the depths of the mind! Abyss of the soul of a woman, even for a God, ναι, but for a mpermpanti God like Zeus, such was certainly something knick knack... The bull ghastly Dimitra, He was given more pleasure, body and soul, as they say, a sunny day, There's something solitary meadows. Put now scene! Nowadays the bestiality is a criminal offence. Em, the opposite, What was supposed to be; Anyway,, as always happens with the divine love, the Nice Dimitra became pregnant. Nine months later he was born a girl, named Persephone.

As grew Persephone, grew and the beauty of. The Riches and sees suffers psychic tralala. God of Hell like fell in love and decided to steal. I could ask her hand like a gentleman, But what mother would give her blessing to a marriage with the ruler of the underworld; The legend in the bosom of the will to evaporate from in front of the exapodw. According to the Homeric hymn to Demeter, the young Persephone was gathering flowers in Nysio field. The syntrofeyan Athena, Artemis and the Oceanid nymph. Carefree Persephone, moved away from the company of, seeking the most beautiful flower. When he bent down to catch a Daffodil, the land was divided in the middle and from the bowels appeared a chariot. Driver was the Pluto that with one hand clutching the reins of horses and the other grabbed the gorgeous girl. The cries are not heard by anyone and Persephone found Queen in the black Kingdom of the underworld.

Vain Demeter was searching for her daughter by day and by night. Than sorry, the land and the crops began to languish. After long, the Sun you see everything from the sky, pitied the inconsolable goddess and told her where her daughter was. Susan demanded to return Persephone, otherwise they would leave the Earth to xananthisei. Zeus, motivated by the prayers of people who were hungry, ordered Pluto to release Persephone.

God of Hell had no other choice than to obey, but, Sly and deceitful as it was (in front of Satan does not work trick) first gave Persephone to eat a pomegranate. And, do you think IE ... well, so long was not eating anything the girl, foodless had the bum; Details! The Pluto knew that, If the girl consumed food in the Underworld, I was then tied with him and could not leave. (E); Something like magic potion IE ... Persephone ate six seeds and thus sealed the fate of. When he learned the Dimitra, was furious (the law is the law, Sue says, even for the gods) and to tide over Jupiter, He suggested a compromise: For every seed that Persephone ate, I lingered a month in hell! Scalpel-like solution: Half outta, half from then! Well, the girl you spent half the time next to her mother and the other half with Pluto. Susan accepted the judgment, but it never overcame the loss of her daughter.

Since then six months that Persephone was in Hades, Demeter mourning and with mourning and the nature. The trees lose their foliage, asthenoysan crops and severe winter fall on Earth. Though, When Persephone returned to her mother, the joy of Demeter prasinize the Earth and plants blossom.

At this point I would borrow them one published a wonderful description of the mural of goats (We do not know the author):

The mural at Aigai

The mural with the abduction of Persephone has been found in a tomb at Aigai kibwtioschimo with dimensions of 3 x 4, 5 m. who is dating around 350 e.g.. and who belonged to a young woman about 25 years old who have died in childbirth and was buried here along with the infant of, which is believed to be one of the seven wives of Philip II, probably nicesipolis of Feres, the mother of Thessalonica. On the North wall of the Tomb lies the stunning fresco. In the middle of the image dominates the chariot with four white horses. Hades, more great than "all other forms of, grabbed the prey and jumps in the chariot. At the right hand of the King of the dead tightens the scepter of power and the reins of horses, shaken with the front legs in the air, starting already in their frantic Gallop. Between his legs, imprisoned in the dark bosom of the, the Pluto keeps tight Persephone. The daughter is naked. Her dress slipped and fell. Only stayed the lanyard that clutched on her shoulder and her purple cloak hides the IVI, it becomes the background for soft hips and lost his smigontas with purple drape of Pluto. In a last-ditch attempt to escape, her daughter shaken backward, her body stretched, tender like flower stalk, get away from the demands and the arm that clench like pincer. Perfectly weak, stretching out the armrests, desperately begging for help that will not come. The wind gets her hair, the eyes of the reign, the person becomes a mask of despair. The daughter's refusal to accept her fate, the desire to hook in the world who is forced to leave and "aversion to Hades it becomes obvious through the movement of the body of which is totally contrary to his own and through the removal of their heads. With an extremely dynamic and extremely bold design, Open composition, based on intensity, but to balance that produce two intersecting diagonals, a finding that rather he introduces in the traditional iconography of Rapture, the artist manages to "get all the dramatic tension of the confrontation with the Hunter's prey, the male with the female, of life with death.

Behind the chariot, in the eastern corner of the image, misogonatismeni in soil, a friend of Persephone is watching the drama, petrwmeni of fear. Her dress slipped and her breasts are naked, but the imatio of the golden brown in baggy menexelia edging the wraps still, forming a warm wreath, inside, which stresses the seductive whiteness of her skin. Bent in two lifts a hand to preserve, looks like it wants to leave and cannot, frozen like a nightmare, involuntary witness of abhorrent. Her eyes designed completely sparingly, two grammoyles and a boylitsa all and yet manage to express perfectly the ineffable terror ...

Like morphological, but conceptual counterpoint to the passivity of the daughter's syntrofissas, that with terror accepts the fatal, on the other side of the show appears Hermes. With the Caduceus, the magic wand that giteyei the souls of the dead, the only traditional and recognizable symbol of the show, at hand, the dark is here nymfopompos psychopompos wedding & running, almost flying on tiptoe of, leads the chariot in the West, in the land of the dead.

The interpretation of myths

If the modern reader or researcher could exculpate "n, even temporarily, from the Orthodox or Catholic christianokentriki reading East and West or, even better, and by the counterpoint of the Olympians gods with God of the old and New Testament, could identify a focal conceptual point, useful key to decoding of the myth:

In "West reading", but in "Eastern reading", Zeus is an incorrigible flirtatious and whatever hottie "of gyalize", the stalked up to make his own. But the "Greek reading", a number of both, says that any love of Zeus (every one love from innumerable erwtes of) It symbolizes the meeting of two natural forces, one fertilizes the other in order to obtain always a new physical strength. No love of Zeus is not "arid". You could say that no love of Zeus is not just for pleasure or, How would say some today, "on the bed". All the encounters resulted in the birth of a hero or a heroine, a new God or a new goddess, panapei, the birth of a new physics force. So: The physical force that fertilizes, symbolized with the male (Jupiter, who is the original, the primary power) and physical strength that is impregnated (every time one further physical strength) symbolized with the female. The known word "hybrid" means the intersection of the two elements to produce a new, which will be stronger component of parenting. But if this intersection is made by human rather than divine hands, the "hybrid", that means: Hubris Zeus. I.e., hubris in God. I.e., violation of nature. So Zeus is the nature.

All are symbols. And these symbols were taught in the eleusinian or Cabeiri Mysteries, where was high-priest says, the King of Macedonia! Hence the persistent representation for the abduction of Persephone by Pluto "in Royal Tombs. Zeus, Dimitra, Persephone, the Pluto. Is Holy, It's archetypal symbols by themselves mean something very important and all together, at their meeting, something very important. But ... What;

With the revelation of the funerary monument of Amphipolis discussions and publications worldwide. Eminent archaeologists and university professors are trying to interpret what that highlights a little-bit the hoe of k. Peristeri. We have listed here some sample excerpts of publications:

Ian Goyordingkton, Professor of classics, University of Missouri, believes that the excavators are in a tomb belonging to a woman, as the mosaic shows a woman driven to the underworld. If proven, Adds the Goyordingkton, then the Tomb might host the Roxane, wife of m. Alexandrou, or his mother Olympias. Both women were from cassander, one of the generals of Alexander the great, When he ascended the throne of ancient Macedonia», complements.

"Based on classical texts kassandros burried the Roxanne and her son in Amphipolis the 310 eg, so it's likely to be that the mound dweller ", noted Professor, According to the magazine. "But other evidence suggests the Olympiad. Alexander wanted to deified his mother, like the woman in the chariot of Hades. Extra, the Olympics continued to retain political power and after the death of Commander. Although murdered by cassander and his allies, "I think that could be honored with a tumulus ', highlighted by Philip Freeman, Professor of classical studies at Luther College in Iowa.

The author Andrew Tsagk speaks at Discovery and analyzes his opinion because the inlay this might be the most complete portrait of Alexander the great at a young age. Through this view Chang believes that strengthened the theory that the tomb is buried the Olympiad, mother of Macedonian King.

"The mosaic depicts Hermes, the Pluto and Persephone. In fact the representation of Rapture Persephone has human matches "argues Andrew Tsagk, author of the book "in search of the tomb of Alexander the great".

"I believe that Persephone represents the face of the woman who is buried in the Tomb, which led to the underworld "notes the author.

This means that there is some major Queen of Macedonia, which died somewhere between the 325-300 e.g.. probably in Amphipolis, so we can assume that this is the Olympics or Roxanne.

Andrew Tsagk considers it more likely that the grave be located the Olympiad since archaeologists discovered the female statues and Sphinxes of Karyatidon inside the Tomb.

Roxane, the wife of Alexander the great, came from the area of today's Afghanistan, something that makes it extremely rare chance is in reality redhead. In contrast the Olympiad originated from the Molossoys of Epirus, where the red hair was something ordinary, "says author in Discovery. However, in its analysis of the Chang go one step further and claims that the other two persons of mosaic, Mercury and Pluto, have significant similarities with both "protagonists" of life of Olympiad. Pluto has a form that looks pretty in Philip II ", her husband and father of Alexander Olympias. It's uncrowned king and has filmed like the right side of his head. The right eye of Philip were mangled because of a wound from an arrow during the battle.

Another approach

The abduction of Persephone by Pluto is a grave issue that comes straight from the Orphic and Eleusinian philosophy or the Cabeiri Mysteries. It may not be a coincidence that Philip's mother was called Evridiki, just like the beloved wife of Orpheus descended into Hades. The story of Orpheus Evridikis House closely resembles the story of Persephone, Demeter. "Grave matter" means that the expression does not represent persons who descended into Hades, as the Honourable Prof claim "all teachers around the world, but symbolizes the deeper substance of death, parastainei mythological soul and highs of the soul from the spiritual to the material world and vice versa. In the expression of Amphipolis, where for the first time we meet Pluto dafnostefanwmeno, indicates a glorious death, the endoxoteros of all deaths. And such was the death of Alexander. Consequently, the tomb of Alexander, either inside of his great Commander, or not. This at least through the use of symbols tells the mosaic of Persephone!

The architecture of the monument "tells" and something else important: The Sphinxes, the Caryatids, After the mosaic with the abduction of Persephone, represent a climactic sequence myitikwn levels, each higher than the previous, with its own booth each. The tomb of Amphipolis the halls are more than any other Macedonian tomb and this means that the lodger is the more versed than "all, someone who possesses the maximum degree of initiation, in other words, high priest of the mysteries, superior property and from the Royal, so here we have a Macedonian King, No General of Alexander, Neither Roman or Romans, If, Anyway,, regarded as correct the case of some archaeologists that the tomb is a downstream. It is not and that is why "downstream!

At the end of the excavation will learn why the tomb was in Amphipolis and not at Aigai. For the moment, We can make the case that, most likely all be, the Macedonian empire built by Alexander, to have a new capital, a large port, right next to the chrysoforo Pageo and huge granary of Struma. Amphipolis was then a city much larger than the glorified Athens, the wall was 7,5 km, of Athens was only 6 km! Where else could a better seat for the Navy of the great King, in force which was based the land campaign against the Persians; Moreover, we know from historical sources that Alexander was interested in the West and had begun preparations for the campaign of the West. How I did it without Navy; Could Alexander n "ignore the experience of (Very Amfipoliwti) war Nearchou; Excluded! The transfer of the capital to Amphipolis could therefore be the first strategic step for the campaign that has already begun to prepare Alexander against the West.

But let's see in more detail the mythological theme: Where it comes from the word "Persephone" and what it means;

Persephone. Persefassa. Fersefassa. Ferefassa. Ferefatta. Fersefaassa

As the ferolbios, the bearing eytychian or feroplos, the bearing arms. Trustworthy. Promising. Mouthpiece. For the first part and the second synthetic: Decision. Contradiction. Affirmation.

Fersefaassa well. The bearing the ancient reason was said to be valid forever. The connoisseur of ancient Speech. The adept. For "this and the Temple of Persephone was called Ferrefattion.

Persephone was the daughter of Zeus and Demeter. Dimitra = Ca Mother = Earth Mother. On the relationship of Zeus with Dimitra Zeus represents the celestial world and Ceres represents the earthly world. Their daughter Persephone represents life that is born from the conjugation of celestial and earth things, It implies that life on Earth contains uranium and the underground element. Life on Earth is a conjugation of celestial and earth elements. This shows the "love" of Zeus and the Mother, the Earth Mother, Demeter. In the Homeric hymn which meets and as a daughter of Cronus and Rhea. He namely symbolism, absolutely he: Commingling again of the heavenly and the earthly element. Love of Zeus to Earth. Persephone, secondary to this love, represents the Union of the heavenly and the earthly element, as a carrier and two elements knows the ancient Reason, knowing the fate and has (or should have) consciousness of spiritual beings trapped in matter.

Persephone lives six months into the upper world and six months in the underworld. This symbolizes the births and deaths sustained by the daughter of Father Zeus and Earth Mother (Demeter) until it reaches back into the prior theosis, She had until I grabbed the Pluto. And which will rediscover, When will escape from Pluto. But until then I will go back and forth from the upper to the lower world and vice versa.

If Persephone eat the seeds of the pomegranate, trapped forever in the underworld and "it incites the Pluto. The seeds of the pomegranate symbolize the countless number of lives, the countless number of births and deaths, the countless i.e. number of incarnations of the soul, you will need to escape the Nice daughter, i.e. the soul, from Pluto's dark clamp, i.e. of matter. Persephone momentarily fooled and eats only six spores, for "this and descends to Hades only six months a year. The number six here and six symbolizes "Heaven" that correspond to the underworld, the six levels of spiritual elevation is required until the conquest of the seventh. The soul that ascends in "seventh heaven", relieved from the pain of multilayer and painful births and deaths. The seventh seed of the pomegranate symbolizes the next sky, which also consists of six tiers. If Persephone ate seven seeds of the pomegranate, would offload the captivity of Pluto. Like the "apartments" that has the pomegranate, each of which has many seeds, so are the many spiritual layers that must traverse the soul to unite again with God, as it once was.

So, the months that Persephone is in the upper world, the goddess Dimitra rejoice and there was good weather, While the other six months there was bad weather. The joy of Demeter corresponds to the release of the soul that has hardware offload body. Respectively the regret corresponds to the period that the soul is imprisoned in material body. The youthfulness of Persephone corresponds to the eternal youth of soul, i.e. in the immortality of the soul. That, though, some time trapped in matter. Is the time within eternity that begin births and deaths, incarnations and aposarkwseis.

Pausing a bit in "that phrase: "Susan has accepted the decision, but it never overcame the loss of her daughter ". To stand, because this means that God did not forget about ever drop of the soul to the underworld. "Sleeping and wakes" with anticipation to turn the immortal soul in the eternal heavenly dwelling of ...

Conclusion

The myth of Persephone encapsulates the entire Greek philosophy on life and death. So do many other Greek myths, everyone from "which illuminates in the same context, different applications. The decoding of the myth of Persephone reveals all the Orphic teaching for the before and the after life, reveals all that knowledge you have hidden from people religions, each in her own way and for reasons of.

In what,What is the funerary monument of Amphipolis, the abduction of Persephone by Pluto "testifies occupant of the same Royal clan with the occupant of the tomb of goats. The lodger he knows the maximum truth, in other words, Privy, knows the full aposymbolismo of legend, because it is high priest of Kaviria Mysteries, that has risen to the fullest extent of initiation, i.e. hold, Cosmic, of Knowledge yperkosmias. He too, in this period of time dating back to the grave, only Alexander. There may be other, not even the Olympics, because she was not high priest, Apart and left at the foot of leaving for his campaign, "but in this case, the fact that he was murdered by cassander, excludes such price performance. Such a majestic monument built only for the powerful of the day, never for the loser. The policy has its limits... But strong of the day, even dead, then and until today, none other than Alexander.

And if you make a mistake in this, never mind. The important thing is not in any case, the discovery of the tomb of Alexander, in Amphipolis or elsewhere, and the salvation of the country once again from the dead,, the tourist exploitation of the monument for the sake of the unemployed of cheimazomenis Greece, would a new hubris, Chiron of the first. It is clear: Most important of all is the revelation of maximal knowledge about what encoding and what wants to say to humanity the secular myth of Persephone. This, only this, will shatter the darkness prevailing on Earth.

Alexander the great in the narratives of the Koran

Writes the Valia Papanastasopoulou // *

The mysterious Dhu al-Qarnayn (= Doo Al-Karnaϊn)

Gold Stater (297-282 e.g.) by Alexander horned head on one side and the inscription VASILEOS Lysimachia to another.

Much talk was in previous months for the monumental tomb of Amphipolis in Kasta Hill and the identity of the deceased or of the dead that was hiding for centuries within the bowels of. Speculations in the media have enormous dimensions and already written many texts on the subject and while the archaeological process was still underway. The revelation of the tomb – the existence of which was known in the scientific community since the 1960s, When the late d. Lazaridis made a first excavation – sparked, as expected, the popular imagination of modern Greek and led many to stimulate again the story of the lost tomb of the great Macedonian Commander.

The charm of the person and the conquests of m. Alexander is not a new case, but one fact that spread in literature and the imagination of peoples with whom they had contacted the Macedonian King and not only. Within this context, not surprisingly, the presence of Alexander and the literature of the Arab world, But what you may not be well-known in the broader Greek audience is a possible reference to the face of m. Alexander inside the Koran.

The Koran is the sacred book of Islam and in surah Al Kachf (= Cave) a mysterious person named – certainly symbolic nickname – are Dhu al-Qarnayn (ذو القرني ن ) (= Doo Al-Karnaϊn). The narrative (18, 83-98) mentions that there was once a mighty hero, who traveled to both ends of the world, Eastern and Western, i.e. in points, where the sun rises and sets. This was the Dhu al-Qarnayn, who, continuing his journey to other parts of the Earth, arrived in front of two big mountains, in the shade of which lived a peculiar breed. The people of this tribe are characterized by the recitation of the Koran as sub-human and animal behavior, but nevertheless seek the help and protection of Dhu al-Qarnayn in order to repel the Gog and Magwg, who lived beyond these two mountains and frightened this breed. The Dhu al-Qarnayn will give the solution to their problem, constructing a giant wall of iron and fire blocking the unclean Nations Gog and Magwg to enter. According to the Koran this wall still exists even today and will be destroyed only during the day of judgement. Then hordes of Gog and Magwg will stream and will torment the whole world.

The Gog and Magwg, already known from the book of the old testament, presented in the book of the Apocalypse of John as enemies of humanity. The keeping of them behind a firewall from the m. Alexander first mentioned by Jerome, While it was known this story and in the 6th century. in some Syrian versions of the legend of Alexander.

Who is but the Dhu al-Qarnayn in the Qur'an and how it could be identified with the m. Alexander; The phrase Dhu al-Qarnayn in Arabic means "the bearing two horns». Comes from the word dhu and binary number of the word karn (= Horn). The identity of the Dhu al-Qarnayn has been the source of much speculation over the years. Although opinions vary, the classical Muslim exegetes of the Qur'an considers as the most common identification of Dhu al-Qarnayn with Alexander the great person.

Really, the name itself Dhu al-Qarnayn (= bearing two horns) It is particularly revealing the sources of the text of the Koran, as the title was actually a commonly used adjective for the m. Alexander since antiquity. In fact this title is the result of Alexander's connection with the horned sygkritistiki Egyptian deity, known by the name Zeus-Amun, which led to the depiction of the Macedonian king with two horns of a RAM to protrude from his head. The iconography of the god Amun will continue to be associated with Alexander, even after his death. The god Amun had become particularly important for Alexander after his visit to the sanctuary of God in Siva of Egypt at which point Alexander himself to call God many times his father. After the death of Alexander, people of his close environment incorporated horns of Amun in the iconography of Alexander, as seen for example in the currencies, an illustration that has been preserved for many centuries in art.

Nevertheless, It is not only the name of Dhu al-Qarnayn that identifies that person with the m. Alexander, but the fact that the story of Dhu al-Qarnayn in the Qur'an shows a large degree of similarity with the myths and legends developed around the m. Alexander in the centuries that followed his death. More specifically, the narration associated with travel in the West and counter the Gog and Magwg precede the Koran during many centuries and has its roots in an ancient legend about the m. Alexander.

Painting imaging Alexander to construct the wall against Gog and Magog. Thumbnail probably from the manuscript of Nizami (p. 1590-1600). British Museum.

According to Greek and Latin tradition, Alexander built gates in the Caucasus to keep out intruders. As early as the 1st century BC. e.g.. the Roman historian, Pliny the elder mentioned in this tradition, While in the Middle East region, the story gained a more elaborate way of storytelling, as connected with popular apocalyptic biblical legends, as it ascertains and the Jewish historian Josephus Flavius. Therefore, as early as the first century Alexander presented one to construct a giant iron stronghold in the mountains of the Caucasus and in Central Asia in order to keep away hordes of bad Gog and Magwg.

When at the end of the 4th century. a.d. Oynoi appear to carry out raids and destroy Syria and northern Mesopotamia, the memories are triggered by the biblical Gog and Magwg threat, which helped to further develop the tradition around the m. Alexander. The latter occurs in the traditions of the season as a patron, who with the help of God builds a dam to protect humanity this time from the Huns.

Without doubt it is so obvious that the above narrative comes from the novel of Alexander, a collection of legends recorded by an unknown author in us, who is called conventional "Pseudo-Callisthenes». The novel of Alexander seems to have crystallized literary in Alexandria, Egypt at the end of the 3rd century. a.d. The text very soon became very popular with the result to be rewritten and adapted both to the cultural and national data of individual readers. Hence, the novel of Alexander popularized in many versions and languages in East and West with oldest Latin (4century.) and the Armenian version (5century.).

Though, Basically it was the Syriac version of the novel of Alexander, that brought all these different traditions into a single narrative, adding to the text a number of unknown until then for other traditions stories. In this way, the episode of the construction of the wall against Gog and Magwg, not seen in the oldest versions of the novel, but is originality of Syrian version, probably as a coalescing of the pattern of the wall of Alexander with the biblical tradition of revealing Gog and Magwg peoples. The Syriac version of Alexander's Novel is written in 629-630 a.d. In this narrated Alexander is determined by the known ancient epithet "the bearing two horns», one property that construed literally, as the Macedonian hero is described as having the head of horns.

This myth continued to exist for more than a Millennium in Persia, where the famous poet Ferdowsi in his epic masterpiece in Shahnameh titled devotes a section to this story. There is no doubt that the story of Dhu al-Qarnayn is a direct loan of pre-Islamic stories and legends associated with Alexander the great. These myths come from the 1st century a.d. and widely spread throughout the ancient world till the appearance of Islam. And it is especially interesting that the prophetic activity of Muhammad (610-632 a.d.) coincide with the Syriac version of the novel of Alexander (629-630 a.d.), Although many of these stories had already become well known in the Arabian Peninsula before Islam. No one can deny that the m. Alexander is an important figure in Arabic literature. Even in pre-Islamic poetry we encounter references to his face, the prosfwnwntas either as al-Iskandar either as Dhu al-Qarnayn, like for example the poets Maymūn ibn Qays al-A'sha and contemporary of Muhammad, Hassan ibn Thabit, He composed verses relating to the episode with the Gog and Magwg.

Summing Up, We conclude that it is no surprise the identification of Alexander with the Dhu al-Qarnayn from classical exegetes of the Qur'an. The ancient biblical narratives associated with Gog and Magwg merged them into a single myth with ancient non-historical narrative about Alexander and the construction of a wall in the Caucasus iron: THE M. Alexander built a huge wall in the Caucasus to imprison the Gog and Magwg. Follows, o I Oynoi that invaded in the 4th century a.d. their concurred with Gog and Magwg and would remain imprisoned behind a wall of Alexander until the day of judgment.

This story was further developed during the coming centuries through the various versions of the novel of Alexander of Pseudo-Kallistheni up to the 7th century a.d. – display time of Islam -, so in the Koran the story adapts to the data of the new religion with the help of the Syrian version of the novel. In Accordance, well, with the recitation of the Koran Alexander the great as Dhu al-Qarnayn was a God-fearing theist, who traveled to the ends of the Earth and built a huge wall of iron and bronze to imprison bad Nations Gog and Magwg till the day of judgment, When the Gog and Magwg will break the wall and will stream free spreading fear and havoc on Earth. It is very likely that Muhammad or a later editor of Koran seized the pre-Islamic legends and incorporated in the Koran, adapted to the data of the new monotheistic religion.

Alexander's face had started getting mythic proportions since the reign of, and after his death the oral narratives spread in various peoples. This unique personality was destined to leave its mark on the world and exert a huge influence for hundreds of years after his death, touching even the holy books of various religions, as Islam. Would be overkill, If we say, how Alexander starting from Aigai of Macedonia for all around the world, κατάφερε τελικά να αγγίξει εκείνο που τόσο πολύ ονειρευόταν και δεν ήταν άλλο από το ίδιο το θείο.

The magic of Amphipolis: The artists who created the 3D video

The magic of Amphipolis: The artists who created the 3D video [images&videos]
When virtual reality fills the gaps… actual reality may not cover. With the exception of the special group of Katerina Peristeri, at the moment, Nobody else can admire up close the amazing discoveries of Amphipolis. There Is, though, Yes, technology is not a substitute for the prettiness of the mound, However makes it more tangible in the observer.

The Livescinece spoke with the two Greek authors who created a series of 3D video in which depicted the Interior of the Tomb, According to the discoveries of archaeologists and what gave the publicity through photographs.

As stated in article, the alluring ruins of Amphipolis caused media frenzy in all of the world that made consecutive live links from the site. The same happened in social networks and with the videos that were made to represent, as more details become, How exactly was the Tomb several centuries before. It is no coincidence that if anyone on YouTube typed the name "Amphipolis ' will find numerous videos – other amateur and other worked up to the last detail as their creators have used all the latest achievements of computer science. It is characteristic that none of these videos "virtual world" is not linked to the Ministry of culture. Everything came from the enthusiasm and interest of their creators.

One of them is Nick Alexandrou who lives in Rome, but echeri born in a nearby area with Amphipolis. Speaking at Live Science explained how the first video he did for personal use. Last July the Alexander graduated from the University of L'Aquila in Italy by master. It is now a civil engineer specializing in architectural works. The same period Greece stirred by a cheery new that focused the Amphipolis and there finds. Alexander says that before he made the video for Amphipolis, had created three-dimensional renderings for buildings, but never for archaeological ruins. This, combined with the impressive ruins of Amphipolis gave him the motivation to try. "I thought it would be something great for promoting our Greek heritage. So I decided to fix it and upload it on YouTube. I'm happy with the score and I thought that surely will find plenty that will be interested to see my model ". The first video was posted in mid-October and until now has 200.000 views. Indeed, accepted requests from fans of his work, try to do recovery of broken arms Karyatidon and complement of the section of the amazing missing mosaic. So he entered into this process as far as possible by restoring the monument and give some modern touches to the existing creature.

The second attempted to do a professional job was the artist Dimitris Tsalkanis who resides in Athens. The Tsalkanis created a website (www.ancientathens3d.com), through which it shared with the world his own depictions of ancient Athens. For him the Amphipolis was an interesting challenge and so on 13 December loaded the first video. In accordance with its own Visual models are an artistic rather than archaeological representation. So it worked more freely and added some touches of color on the statues of Sphinxes and Tomb. However, pointed out that his choices were based on studies about the colors used by the Greeks during the period.

When Dimitri Aggeloydi, web developer, This trend shows the interest of the Greeks to see the monument under another light. He worked closely with amfipoli-news.com site, in which there are 3D representations of the mound, and virtual tour. The site "climbed" in October in collaboration with Panagiotis Panagiotou, student, University of Thessaloniki.

The Tsalkanis acknowledges that the controversies surrounding the Amphipolis weighed in as he was making the video. "It shocked me the situation, However the effect that had the monument in society was interesting. I think the video shows how it was made, But how discovered the monument». The Alexander prefers another aspect: "If we do not use these discoveries now, When I do; Κάθε αρχαιολογική ανακάλυψη είναι ένα βοήθημα προς εμάς από τους Αρχαίους Έλληνες».

Κομμαγηνή: Το Μυστήριο Μαυσωλείο του Αντίοχου !

Antiochos, a just, eminent god, friend of Romans and friend of Greeks, c. 86 BC – 38 BC, ruled 70 BC – 38 BC) was a king from the Greek Kingdom of Commagene and the most famous king of that kingdom.
The ruins of the tomb-sanctuary of Antiochus are magnificent to behold even today. The site of his interment atop Mount Nemrut, a.k.a. Nemrut dagi, was named to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1987. Several sandstone bas reliefs discovered at the site contain the oldest known images of two figures shaking hands.

«Στην κορυφή του Νεμρούτ Ντάγκ, up to Antitayro, in n. a.. Turkey, is a strange monument, at a height of 2.500 measures.
For the first time discovered a germanotoyrkiki joint archaeological expedition, the 1882. It is strange, However that since, as today, It was possible to investigate the inside of. Is the mausoleum of Adiochou 1st , the King of Commagene, a tiny Kingdom, that wasn't long life, and I just stood, the last echoes of the great adventure of Alexander in Asia.
"This is a stunning monument, very reminiscent and Persian works, but Egyptian together. The resemblance, on the other hand, with the Egyptian monuments by early researchers, they still had not noticed how everything, What monumental was constructed in East, mimicked much of Egypt's projects.
In Persepolis, the monuments of Artaxerxi and Darius, carved on the rock, totally reminiscent of the temples of the Valley of the Nile.
In Nemroyt Ntagk, the colossal statues were erected over the tomb of the Adiochou of the first, closely resemble the colossi of the temples of Thebes ".

The name Kingdom of Commagene

Researching various sources about the name of this Kingdom, we discovered that the name originates from the words party-genus which means part or part of a larger generation (genus). In a Turkish text says that it is from the words Kommoyn and Genes, who says as Greek words. The small land came after the decay of the Seleucid Empire (known as the Greco-Syrian Kingdom) the 162 e.g..
Other historians say that there is the name of the Assyrian texts Kummuhu, that is associated with the Kingdom of Commagene,.
First King of Commagene was the former satrap (Commander) When it ceased to be under the Seleucid Empire.
With the dissolution of the Greek-Syrian Empire proclaimed the Kingdom of Commagene independent with capital Samosata (who had previously built the Sami on the banks of the Euphrates-Turkey's current town of Samsat). In his Kingdom incorporated Greek and Persian peoples of the region.

The establishment of the Kingdom

The Ptolemaios according to an inscription found in the tomb of Mount Nemroyt was a descendant of King Darius I of Persia. His son succeeded the Sami b ' dubbed ' Theosebis ' Dikaios. From the later reign of Mithridates Callinicus of A΄toy (100 until 69 e.g.) the Kingdom of Commagene had miscarried the Persian past of, After being dominated in all levels of the Greek civilization. Established as an official language of the Greek State.
Mithridates married the Princess of ellinosyriakoy Kingdom Laodice Vii the Goddess and their son Antiochus 1st the ' God of Commagene ' took over the Kingdom the 70 e.g., until his death, the 38 e.g. Photo: The stone heads they have height 3 measures!

Huge sizes
Archaeologists have been impressed by the mausoleum of, which has a circumference of 30 measures and punctuating inscriptions.
The choice of venue for the project, made by the same King, in order to do meditation and Memorial place of pilgrimage for the people of. At the foot of mount this his father Mithridates founded the town Arsemeia.
According to the inscriptions Antiochus himself was proud of his ancestry after he stated that he was a descendant of Alexander the great and Darius!
In the eastern embankment of the monument there is an altar, While at the top of the project were erected 25 colossal statues in which only heads were worked with meticulous detail. In them we distinguish him Antiochus and around him the Sun God, Apollo of Greek, the Midas of Persians, the Fortuna, the goddess of fertility, the Malda Achoyra, the father of the gods, personification of Zeus, Hercules etc..
Today the stone heads are strewn around the mound. It is huge, over three meters each, and impress guests.
The vanity of Antiochus with the erection of the monument is open, After he proclaimed himself a representative of the gods on Earth! Theopoiise, Indeed, himself before he died and identified every worshipful detail around his grave.
"I believed always that piety is the most important asset and this gives the sweetest joy to mortals ' writes in an inscription on the monument of.
It is believed that an earthquake dropped the huge statues of the monument that reached the 15 meters high.
The archaiokapiloi, of course, over the centuries ,searching frantically for a coveted treasure, erected all devotional utensils were made of precious metal.
But they failed to catch up in the Interior of the monument, in order to loot the inside of. The stone is asikwtoi and volumes in these remote parts, for now at least, It is impossible to use modern mechanical means. Some effort was formerly bore no result because it rolled dangerously above rocks.
In an inscription seem to be written by Antiochus:
"Conceived the plan to raise close to celestial Thrones and foundations inaccessible and immune from the time this ' orothesion ' monument dedicated to the gods where my body, After old would sleep the eternal sleep, apochwrismeno from my soul reverent, you will fly to the celestial realms of Zeus-Achoyra Magda».
While in another you made:
I Antiochus, I set up this monument to glorify myself and my gods».
Typical is another inscription located as one ascends towards the entrance of the mound:
"This is the road to the sanctuary. Those who have bad intentions should leave immediately ".

Until today I have walked through the Tomb archaeologists. You might expect the first to dare archaiokapiloi!
So though, We will be able to learn the mystery of the tomb of an ancient King.

(Summary quote from lawyer Theodore Lyberaki lecture given in Eleftheroupoli the 1996 with the theme "The paggaio mountain and his contribution to the Greek and world culture”)

Long before the arrival of the Greeks in the Greek peninsula and therefore also in the area of Pageos, lived here the pre-Hellenes known, otherwise and so-called Pelasgians, for the existence of which in our area spoke of Aeschylus in’ a wonderful choral tragedy of IKETIDES.
Homer among the thrakopelasgikoys peoples who fought on the side of the Trojans during the Trojan war defines the Briges or Phrygians and Paeonian, two people who were affiliated with each other and with the Trojans and who lived in the proomiriki era in Macedonia, Although the Phrygians in the region of Vermio in today's Western Macedonia, the Paeonian at the top of the Valley of Axios, where they were for the capital Amydwna. But the bulk of the Frygwn emigrated to m. Asia before the era of the Trojan war, already by the end of the 9th century BC. the Doric origin Macedonians began to displace from present-day Central and Western Macedonia all genders residing there, themselves gradually until reaching the coast, where they had begun to arrive and the Greeks of southern Greece and founded the colonies. Two of the tribesmen who expelled were the Phrygians that were left in the area after the migration of their people in m. Asia and Paeonian. A part of Frygwn and all the Paeonian forced so under the pressure of the Macedonians to move northwards and t’ East, where besides Strymonos remained for centuries, (Sintiki, Odomantiki, Idwnis), where they found them and Herodotus to reside, to hold the bulk of pediados of Serres and to have their cities on the Strymon River, but anameichthentes with the Thracians and Greeks colonists of the coast formed the background of Paggaio population in historical times.
But important though was the role of Paiones, of Frygwn and other ancient tribes of our region in shaping the history of the region, Another great service from people who already’ archaic years constituted the bulk of the population in General and of Elevation between the Strymon and Nestos country, the Thracians, It was he who gave the Pangeo and its unique historical identity, It was he who brought the Pangeo, the gods and the cults of so close to the Greeks and influenced so much philosophical thinking.
This great nation, composed of a multitude of individual tribes, has always been the entire between the strymon and Nestos region and consequently the Pangeo, that until the time of King Philip II of Macedon’ ethwreito Thrace, the first historically not years (7the and 6th St. e.g.) Here are various phyla of, Paionika and Frygika mixed with remnants of the past, While on the coast are already starting to set up the first Greek colonies of Greeks, the Neapolis of Thasos and the coastal cities of Perea or continental Thasiakis.
Already well from the 7th b.c.. century jostling around Sacred Mount of antiquity a racial and linguistic mosaic, the grounds now its existence is very known and appeared many times in the history of mankind. They are the same reasons that the previous century prompted crowds of Europeans and Asians to move to the western part of the U.s., for the search of gold. It is in other words the spirit of adventure and the human desire for easy enrichment, that makes him n’ always seeks the mythical Eldorado.
Indeed, beyond the great advantage of providing geographically wonderful place, This privileged area had in ancient times extremely riches. But products that produce the fertile Earth and t’ vast forests of was nothing compared with the treasures of the mines of. For centuries the rich mines of Paggaio provided in great abundance of gold and silver, the search which was the most important issue for the region throughout the centuries and is the secret of the entire history of.
Around the 7th b.c.. the two most important Phrygian century genders played a prominent role in the events of that period in historical times, the Idwnes or the Edoni Pieres, still inhabited at ancestral home, the first Strymonos in excess of Mygdonia, and second in the foothills of Mount Olympus, the till today called Pieria. But already from the 7th century onwards, and especially around the late 6th and early 5th BC.. century were expelled from the first Macedonian Kings, some Pieres by Partridge the Ios, the Edoni or Idwnes by Alexander the Ios and were forced to move to the edwthe of the Struma region and settle, some Pieres in South Pieria Valley stretching pangeo, East until the current Eleftheroupoli and South up the sea, they got their name and since then named Pierikos Gulf, like all t’ Thucydides mentions in the 2nd book of the history of.
Parallel to the North of Paggaio area inhabited by other tribes Phrygian, first whose Odomantes, between the lower reaches of the Strymon and the massif of Pageos, While North of Pageos and the plain of Serres lived the Panaioi, (Thucydides puts them "th far Amphipolis"), the Dersaioi or Derraioi, in’ others in the area of Philippi and in particular on the Western side of the mountains of the basin, Re’ they were evacuated to the North, When they occupied the whole region and the Edoni’ others in the area of Lake doiran, etc..
Around the Pangeo also in small numbers and’ North of Serres synwthoyntan, as already mentioned ahead, remnants of Paeans, that seems to have belonged the Sirropaiones, the Doberes, the Paioplai etc.. While on the same sacred Pangeo lived and dominated a hard-edged martial race, the Satres, who were those that mainly, (without lag and Pieres and Odomantes) exploit the minerals of Pageos.

GREEKS IN THE REGION OF PAGGAIOU

As early as the Neolithic age and the bronze age but main during the iron age the island of Thassos was culturally with prehistoric settlements of the opposite coast, as the village of Orfani, of Akropotamos, of Galipso, the Ntikili Tash, of Sitagron etc..
In the last centuries of this period and in particular before the 7th century BC., so in Thassos Phrygian tribes inhabited and palms colonists, their relationships with the opposite shore is confident and up to the first quarter of the 5th b.c.. century all of these exploit themselves freely and the mines of Skaptis Material in the area of Pageos (or when younger historians in the region of the mountains of the basin).
In the second half of the 7th century b.c. y. and after the colonization of Thassos from Parioys, Parioi and Thasioi jointly appear on the opposite coast of Thassos, having their eye chiefly on the wealth of minerals of Pageos, colonize the entire coast this, that call Thasos Continent or Peraia, and establish, around 650 e.g.. neapoli, today's Kavala, While slowly and especially during the 4th Santa. complete the Thasos Trades, i.e. the coastal routes fortified settlements – their colonies, built on posts older settlements, much of Thracian origin. Such trades that evolved into real cities States and stood on the beach of’ where is the current national road Thessaloniki-Kavala was Galipsos, Apollonia and Kavala, but the pieriki city Fagris, in place of the current village of Orfani and other anonymous settlements.
But until at least today is generally accepted that the Thasioi never managed to penetrate with permanent installations (colonies) inside of their Sun, to spend in other words the coastal ridge of the symbol and to settle permanently in the area around pangeo, which remained under the absolute rule of hardline extremists THRACIANS that inhabited. Only the 356 e.g.. the orator Kallistratos of Afidnes in Athens ordered unfairly to death and takes refuge in’ all in Methoni, Macedonia and from there on Thassos, where it enters the head of a group of colonists which thasos comes in old Thracian settlement Datton or Krinides and founds the first and unique as shown thassian colony inside the region of Pageos, making reality, even for only a few years, as we will see then, the dream of generations of entire Thasos to settle permanently in their hinterland of Perea.
But let us come back again in Pangeo. The 513 e.g.. established beside the river Strymon from 1453 settlers under the tyrant of Miletus Myrkinos city Istiaio, to whom else; the exploitation of minerals of Pageos.
During the Ionian revolt, and in particular the 497 e.g.. the new tyrant Aristagoras of Miletus Milisiwn rebel leader comes in Myrkino, aimed at the occupation of the Thracian village of Street Ennewn, (of the later Amphipolis) but the business of fails, because the would-be colonists slaughtered by local residents.
At the same time, the King of the Persians Darius, taking advantage of the quarrels of the Kings of Paeans of Pageos, He sent his general Megabazo to attack inside of their country, where he found their cities anochyrwtes and captured. Then the Paeonian were forced to disperse, those not arrested, (Siriopaiones, Paeonian resident up to the Prasiada Lake, the current Dojran and above this term Dysswron), led by the Persians in Asia with their families, Re’ where they managed to turn around a few years later, with the help of the tyrant of Miletus Aristagora.
After suppressing the Ionian Revolution follows Mardonioy's campaign in Greece, η οποία, regardless of the inglorious end of Athos, yield in 492 e.g.. to the Persians Thassos, Macedonia and the Thracian coast. Though, Fri’ all guards mardonius installs everywhere, the Thracian tribes of Paggaio retain their lands and certain, even their independence.
The 480 e.g.. launched the campaign of the new Persian King, of Xerxes, in Greece. The latter, passing with t’ countless troops from the area, force all genders and all Phrygian city dwellers than’ where he spent, n’ follow the troop of, submissive in the same. So passed from our site, even from our city, crossed the Pieria Valley where he spent outside the walls of the Thracian Holy p, the Pergamon and the Fagrita, (It was there where are now respectively the Moustheni and Orfani), as for all that informs us of Herodotus, It reinforced the Persian garrisons in cities, but he was unable to subdue all Thracians pangeo and especially the months of peak Satres, who, as Herodotus says "nothing man egenonto nationals".
But the wealth of the same area already coveted by very early season and the Athenians. Already in the 6th century b.c.. the exile in Pangeo Peisistratus, subsequent tyrant of Athens, He has enriched many of the mines of the misthodotisei mercenaries and to prepare his return to Athens.
Miltiades, the winner of the Persians at Marathon, from his marriage with Igisipyli, daughter of Ember King of Pageos, Olorou, had acquired rights to the gold mines of Mount, first he wanted to lead the Athenians in Pangeo, but prevented the failure of the Athenian expedition against Cyclades.
The son of Cimon, maintaining the rights of the father in the goldmines of Pageos, Head of Athens came to make reality the dream of his father and the 475 e.g.. He managed to occupy the first city of the region, the old Thracian town Column, (between the Beach today Ofrynio and at the mouth of the Struma), to use as a basis for business to conquest of the Thracian hinterland. In the capture of Iionas seems to take part and the great Athenian tragic poet Aeschylus, because in the tragedy of the "Persians" describes the area as the knew very well.
But those successes of the Athenians brought them into conflict with the Thasioys, which were most clearly the economic interests and for’ This 465 e.g.. the apostatisan from a Thasioi’ Athenian League. The Athenians sent then powerful forces to poliorkisoyn Thassos (which subjugated after two years of siege), While at the same time sent and 10.000 Athenian colonists, headed by generals Leagro and Swfani, to understand the rich Thracian hinterland. But those settlers, Although conquered the Thracian town Nine Roads, (the later Amphipolis), ultimately were defeated by the United forces of mountain and the region's hardline extremists Thracians and all katesfagisan from the past in Drabisko (current Drabisko of n. Serron).
The Athenians, shocked by this unprecedented disaster, could not reach the area until after 28 years. Then, (in 437 e.g.) Athenian colonists m’ led by settler Agnwna captured the Nine Streets and in their place created the colony of Athens perifimoteri, the Amphipolis, thus obtaining more direct access to Pangeo and rich area of.
Amphipolis, located in a privileged area, on high hills that periebreche the Struma, controlled the mouth of the latter, He had direct access to the sea through the coastal port of, of Iionos, in the fertile valley of Struma, at an elevation of Plains north of the current n. Serres and of course in the same pangeo, the objective of all efforts by then conquest of the region.
But the settler ' Pure, Although the Amphipolis and teichise made a wonderful city, though he committed a fatal error. Installed in’ This, Apart from Athenian colonists and residents of the neighboring and hostile towards Amphipolis town Clay, colony of Andriwn, (the excavations are now immediately after the Kerdyllia, on the highway Thessaloniki-Kavala) from Halkidiki, who were enemies of Athens soon and this hatred, in combination with the skills of the Spartan General Brasidas, brought the ultimate in Amphipolis in 424 e.g., 13 short years since its foundation and even without a fight, After the city handed over to the Spartans themselves residents of.
The late intervention of the Athenian fleet under the historian Thucydides, Athenian general, failed rather than bail out for the Athenians the Iiona. Two years later the Athenians to recapture campaign of Amphipolis under Cleon led to a clash the last with brasidas and new destruction of Athens, who permanently lost anymore this area so matches had made to conquer ' and so little they managed to delight.
Though, the attraction that was causing the Greeks this area still remains strong. The 382 e.g.. the Chalcis of Halkidiki, After synaspisthikan between the, entered into relations with the Thracian tribes that still remained undisturbed then exploiting pageOn and took part in the exploitation of.
Moreover, forty years after the loss of Amphipolis, the Athenians were still dreaming of this area. So in 371 e.g.. These, having gained freedom of movement in Thrace, send successively the Ifikrati and Timothy, to be exhausted in unsuccessful attempts to take the city from the Macedonians, I had already installed there guard.
But Philip had already begun to reign in Macedonia. The 359 e.g.. withdrew the Macedonian garrison of Amphipolis, for the sake of the Athenians, the declared a free city and promised to deliver it to the Athenians, but defaulted on his promise and 357 e.g.. appeared before the walls of, the besieged and oblivious to the negotiations suggested the Athenians, the captured and kept for himself.
The next year 356 e.g.. Philip penetrates in Thrace and occupied all around the country of the Thracians Pangeo, whom and repels, (those who do not subordinate) addition of Nestos, following the invitation of the townspeople themselves of krinides, (that was, as already mentioned mostly, Thasioi colonists), who have suffered greatly from the frequent raids of the addition of Philippi and Nestos martial Thracian tribes, it comes after first occupies the Amphipolis and destroys the will-Galipso genetic resources or traditional colonies and Apollonia, enters the thassian colony (of krinides), of changing the ancient name in Philippi and gives a brief period of autonomy lasting 15 years, during which enables it to issue its own currency and, but then, having already completed the occupation of the whole of the Strymon and Nestos region between, the mounts, along with this whole area in his State Makedoniko, the 344 e.g..
At the same time annexation of Philippi and all around the area in Macedonian sovereignty Pangeo, Philip, as saith the Diodorus Siculus, from the systematic exploitation of recently then to identify talented people around Philippi overflow, but those pangeo, turns out both gold, so can no longer carry out all its objectives, to prepare a mercenary army, to redeem consciousness among crowds of Greeks and to pave the way for the glorious course of Alexander's son in history, whose campaign as well by the same mines sponsored.
The entire Pangeo and its area, with the cities and settlements remained under Macedonian domination throughout the centuries being of Macedonian state. With the walls of Philippi to prevent extension of the aspirations of peoples beyond the river within the limits of the Macedonian sovereignty, the region passed to General life blissful few centuries.
When's the Roman domination and expanded throughout the region, from the 167 e.g.. and after, the Philippi had lost their significance anymore, Perhaps because they had run out of ore that was used around them, and the whole area between the Strymon and Nestos was the first of the 4 portions (provinces) the great Roman province of Macedonia, with capital of the Amphipolis, He continued to maintain with its autonomy and all the glamour and edge and to issue the coins of the entire portion, until the 146 e.g.. they cease to exist the portions and Macedonia becomes a whole Roman province.
The 42 e.g.. but the fate of earmarks under a preferential treatment, which seals indelibly in the history of. Outside the old walls of ancient Philippi played the last act of the drama of the Roman Republic, Once there the Democrats Romans with generals Cassius and the Broyto are fans of Monarchy in Antony, Octavian (later Caesar Augustus, the first Emperor of the Romans) and Lepidus, in the famous battle of Philippi, where nikwntai the Democrats, These leaders commit suicide and starts for Rome the Imperial period of governance of.
The 42 well e.g.. Antony and Octavian perceived the importance of the area and immediately installed first Antony Romans apomachoys and founded the first Roman colony of Philippi, which Octavian, genomenos Emperor of the Romans after the battle at Actium the 31 e.g.. and the disappearance of his opponent, Antoniou, the 30 e.g.. turned on imperial colony, that brought apomachoys of Roman legions and colonists from Italy, Greek and Italian descent and endowed it with brilliant constructions, and the 27 e.g.. He named it Colonia exeteine Lulia Augusta Philippensis and the area of responsibility of the throughout around pageOn region, without to forget and Amphipolis, which declares free city, (civitas libera), i.e. city with its own internal autonomy and self-government. Thus begins the illustrious history of another city of Pageos, This of Philippi.

The libraries of ancient Greece

In a country that was born the spirit of science and philosophy, the art reached its pinnacle of, the theater was a high-level school for all ages, in a country where there was no town without theater – a unique phenomenon in the history of culture – it would not be possible not to have been there and loved and libraries. There were libraries in the ancient Greek cities; Apart from sporadic cases, the ancient writers were not mentioned in this topic. But there are, Fortunately, epigrafikes sources that come to fill in blank.

The ancient Greeks who both cultivated the arts and letters, was coming to appreciate the invention and use of the alphabet to the point, so the Sophocles to put in lost tragedy of "Amphiaraos" an actress forms with dance moves the letters, While in another tragedy also missed – of Athenian Callias, 24 dance were the members as many letters of the alphabet, Besides characteristic charm that it had in ancient Greek use of letters is the ODE of Pindar in letter s. From former times first tyrants were interested in the dissemination of the Homeric epics, which the machinery mobilising and cared to rescue. In these times and even during the tyrannidas, in Athens, of Peisistratos, must be placed and the Foundation of the first libraries in Greece.

When it talks about libraries in ancient Greece, our thoughts usually refers to the known libraries of Alexandria, of Antioch, the Pergamon and perhaps very – very at Pantainoy and libraries of Hadrian in Athens. But both in Athens and other Greek cities, not only of the metropolitan and colonial Hellenism, There was a very large number of libraries, for which we do not know almost nothing except their existence. The existence of these libraries affirm more epigrafikes and less literary sources.

The existence of libraries in Athens testifies to the historian Polybius also ancient history with Timaio. That Polybius says that, When the Timaeus of Locri was forced to leave the Syracuse, to avoid the pressure of tyrant Agathocles, fled to Athens, where he lived 50 (!) years researching the city libraries of Cecrops. From other sporadic information found in literary sources, it is concluded that there was again a large number of libraries in Greece Greeks outside Metropolitan.

Specifically in Asia were the Greek cities Ephesus libraries, Militos, Alikarnassos, Heraclea Pontus, Knidos, Mylasa, Nisa, Pergamos, Priene, Bursa, Sinope, Σμύρνη, Former, Antioch, Aphrodisias, Cesarea, Tarsus. Magnesia on the meander, Magnesia Sipyloy, Iasus, Thyatira, ACE and Lampsakos. Such libraries must have had and the Greek colonies in the West and on the coast of b. Africa. By some strange coincidence, however, is not mentioned in surviving literary sources and library epigrafikes other than that of Syracuse.

In Greece in particular there was no town without library or at least without a public file, including most small towns. And it is typical that the first library science textbooks were written by Greek Artemonas, that came from Kassandreia. The Artemwn wrote two such writings, they had titles on the synagogue "and" Books On books of use».

(B) I SEE I OTHIKES OF ATHENS.

As mentioned by Polybius narrated for the exported indirectly Timaio concluded that in "kleino asty" there was a large number of libraries. However, the relevant information is very few. The oldest library in Athens dates back to times of Peisistratos, who outside of the interest expressed for meditation and for the classification of the Homeric Epics, founded first in Athens, and public library. The Athenians on epayxisan later with great diligence and care. When Xerxes took Athens, the 480 e.g., plundered the library of Peisistratos and the books moved to Persia. But in the years of his successors m. Alexandrou Seleucus, Nicanor, He managed to aneyrei the books of the library of Peisistratos and resend in Athens.

In the town of Palladas was renowned library and during times of Demetrius, of Falireas, They showed great interest and zeal for books. Pausanias mentions the establishment of library in Athens by the emperor Hadrian. In establishing this library referring and Eusebius. The library of Hadrian in Athens was rich, the stately and luxurious. The ruins and the size will impress and today the visitor's space, located at the end of the road Aeolus. From ancient sources epigrafikes, confirmed by the excavations of the site of the market of the classical period is known the existence, on the official site, Pantainoy library. This is for 2 inscriptions that refer to each other on the establishment and functioning of this library. The first inscription reads:

«Athena Pyliadi... The Athenians the Mouson philosophers ierey t. Flavius Pantaenus successor son Menandrou TAS Flabioy out lodge, the peristylon, the book of bibliothikin after, always aytois the world, of the own ... more anethike.»

The other inscription. that was part of the regulation of the library lists:

"Quite a exenechthisetai Book wmosamen anoigisetai by time epei first until the sixth".

The inscription of the 1st century b.c., published in Inscriptiones Graecae II, 1029. informs us of the existence and operation and other library in Athens, known as "en Ptolemaiw", While the inscription Ι. g. 11.1009 offers evidence that existed in Piraeus library.

Libraries in other cities in mainland Greece.

In addition to the libraries in Attica, There were libraries. as shown by sporadic always information, both literary sources and at epigrafikes in the following cities: In Delphi, as noted by Delphi inscription, stating public library Foundation of Amphictyons (Bulletin de Correspodance Hellenique. 20, 1896, s.. 720), but at Epidaurus was the library, which had been dedicated to the God Asclepius.

Also, the inscription has been found on the island of Delos, which mentions Andriwn Iguazu, where there was a collection of the works of the poet Alcaeus. Apart from Delos had libraries and the Islands Samos, Rhodes, Kos, Crete and Cyprus. The existence of the library at Rhodes shows again the inscriptions from directory containing snippet around 50 writings. Among them are listed and 2 writings with titles "towards Cyprus ' Eyagoran (two copies) «Praise» Alexandrw (copy a) and on the Athinisi Law» (five copies).

For a library in Samos not saved any information on epigrafikes sources. The author however of deipnosophistes Athenian, who more frequently than any other ancient writer mentions in libraries and bibliophiles, by reason for the Greeks who had become famous in the ancient world because of their Rich libraries, mentions the tyrant Polycrates of Samos, the Athenian Euclid, the well-known Athenian tyrant Peisistratos, the Nikokrati, the Cypriot, the Kings of Pergamos and Eymenides Apaloys, Aristotle, Euripides, the Theophrastus and Nileas, who acquired the books contained in the libraries of the last two great men, the famous Stageriti philosopher and his successor at the address of its ambulatory continuation School, Theofraston.

Library in Kos mentions inscription (published in the Bulletin de Correspondance Hellenique, 59. 1935, s.. 421-425) which contains the names of the donors of the library. Among those listed and diocles and the son of Apollodorus, jointly offered the spending for the construction of the building of the library, as well as for the purchase 100 books. Listed, also the Hecataeus as Donator 200 textbooks, the Agisias as a donor 200 drachmas, the Xenocles donated 200 drachmas and 100 books and other donors,

In Crete existed during Roman times library next to the Palace of Knossos, as can be seen from fragment header, that commemorates this library. Also refer to libraries in Cyprus, so from the Athenaeum and the inscription that mentions "bibliofylakioy" epimelitin. Certain library and found existence in Sparta from literary sources, While sources indicate existence of library epigrafikes in Messinia. From another literary source is known and the function of library in the city of Patras.

With regard to (b). Greece, There must have been a library in Pella. From this it seems that the Roman general Aemilius Paul brought in Rome the first large number of English textbooks, After his victory over King Perseus of Macedonia. The existence of library in Pella, You should assume that it used and the m. Alexander, as a student of Aristotle, reminds us of the interest shown by the young King gave the order after the conquest of Persia, to explore the sacred Persian books and everything related to philosophy, medical, Agriculture and astronomy to translated in Greek and sent to Alexandria. From another, end, a votive inscription of Macedonia, posted in B.C.H., 57,1933, s.. 316320, check existence of the library and in the city of Philippi.

Referring to libraries that we can point out from clues literary and epigrafikes, We should not neglect and library of its ambulatory continuation School. The books after Aristotle's death, came the responsibility of his successor Theofrastou. The writings of Theofrastou, along with the books of Aristotle, come to the swkratikoys philosophers erasto, Korisko and his son Koriskoy, Nileas. Nileas, a student of Aristotle and Theofrastou, inherited books of two teachers and moved to the town of µ Skipsi. Asia. After the death of Nileas came to individuals that were unclassified and katakleista. When they learned about the zealous, with whom the Kings of Pergamon attracted books, the hid in underground Crypt, where moisture and ftharikan worms. Their descendants sold in this State in the Apellikwnta Tiio, who, When Strabo, It was rather filobiblos or "philosopher".
To restore corrupted writings he, the copied again from the beginning by rewriting entire parts so issued full errors. At the Athenaeum, However, nileas sold the books of Aristotle and Theofrastou in Ptolemaio, Filadelfo and so were the later model for the Organization of libraries of Alexandria and Pergamon. After the death of Apellikwnta Sulla was carrying his books in Rome (Ploutarchou, Sulla 26,1-2).
Apart from public libraries existed in ancient Greece and many private. Considerable private library had Euripides, as well as the contemporary of Plato's philosopher Menedimos, from Eretria. Isocrates (Aiginitikos, 5) refers to some Thrasyllus, He had a great collection of writings on divination. Plutarch, end, in the biography of Zeno, Describes a book seller in Athens store, where customers were investigating or reading writings, as was done in libraries.

Graphic materials.

When one listens to writings in ancient Greece, He usually signs on marble or writings written on scrolls or parchment. There were also texts written on varied material. The laws of Solon e.g.. had written on wooden reels, called ' axes ', and trigwnomorfes plates, the "kyrbeis" that were erected on the Acropolis. Pliny mentions inscriptions engraved on lead plates, saved and a plate of copper and other iron anepigrafi (J. g. a. 321kai322). Josephus mentions maps to replace lead and Plutarch narrating that the poet Aristomachi dedicated to Delphi textbook, that was the form of metallic eilitarioy. Another copper plate found in Olympia with engraved onto a treaty text, made between Enemies and rivals. Charazontan even inscriptions on clay slabs (at keramos), in skins, in seafood shells and bones. But also on gold plates were engraved texts, e.g.. in the Orphic gold tiles, known both from Crete and Italy. But as NET, Greek invention can be considered the wooden signs, the epaleimmenes with wax. These panels allow continuous rewriting texts after amortisation, that is why the students were mainly for practicing.

All of this information is derived from the study of literature and inscribed sources. From the inscriptions we have and the information that the librarians of ancient Greek libraries were called Secretaries and curators of bibliofylakiwn. [Reprinted from the magazine Archaeology

IT WAS TRUE THE TROJAN WAR;

DIMITRIOS – TZEHM IN MANOS

It is surprising because these archaeological findings are not known not only to the general public, But even in many archaeologists. A my known historian said that “There is nothing for which they hadn't been spoken or discovered first the ancient Greeks”. The contribution of ancient Greece is huge in building Western civilization and the expression of Greco-Roman culture reduces a little the contribution of ancient Greek civilization that the Romans copied (spoiled). Don't forget that and down Italy and Sicily were colonized first by the Greeks.

In the Renaissance, but and the enlightenment, the ancient Greek goods constituted a source of inspiration in all areas of culture, from art (Renaissance) as philosophy, the sciences, the arts and letters. Maybe today there is envy for the ancient civilization where ushered in democracy, of theatre, of art, of Sciences (Let's remember the Democritus who discovered the person!), of philosophy, of sport (Olympics) and generally all those who today take for granted. Besides the repelling of the Persians (but the Turks in modern history) has huge importance and Europe would be different today if they had knocked out the Persians (the Turks and Ottomans). It is no coincidence the emblem of the Acropolis with Parthenon of Athens as a UNESCO World Heritage symbol.

That today foreign scholars spit bile saying that the ancient Greeks were gay offends them because first of all the ancients were bisexuals (like all ancient peoples), but the celibacy was disgraceful. Secondly, I do not understand what evil exists and what reproach if indeed he was gay. And what was; Stress that Alexander the great was homosexual, Although historical data is incomplete, We had several women at his side (as Roxanne). Ditto say for Achilles with patroclos, Although it was mythical persons (or maybe not; We will see below). At The Same Time, There are many generalizations of style Alexander was butcher, Although in fact ekpolitise the entire South-Western Asia and Egypt who later brought Islam to primitive levels. Also saved Europe from the Persians.

At The Same Time, in the History Channel documentary accentuated the Roman supply e.g.. on martial tactics, weapons and structures (though indeed invented the cement), but in fact the ancient Greeks were the ones who first developed the above martial tactics (e.g.. Sacred Band of Thebes, the Macedonian sarissa, siege engines) and constructions (from bridges and aqueducts as high-rise buildings and even prehistoric as in Santorini) and generally they developed all the sciences, Arts and letters.

Nevertheless, the same Hollywood often has as its theme the ancient Greece as in recent films Troy, Helen of Troy, Alexander, Argonauts, Hercules etc. At The Same Time, March 2007 Warner Brothers launched the movie “300” referred to in 300 Spartans of Leonidas who fought the Persians at Thermopylae. The movie, filmed entirely in the Studio, presents fairly heroic Spartans fighting almost naked, Finally escaping from the pseydopoyritanismo, Although in reality the ancients had armor, Greaves etc. The film is perhaps not just remake of old film (that was filmed in Greece: in Lake Vouliagmeni in Loutraki), but is associated with the impending u.s. attack on Iran (Persia). But again, stresses the contribution of the Greeks to repel the Persians and the protection of Europe.

Apart from the Persian wars which describes very nice Herodotus (the father of history) the ancient Greek literature has plenty to showcase. Well known is the Trojan war described in Homer's Iliad. This text has inspired generations – generations and even today have filmed movies (recently the “Troy”with Brad Pitt) with this topic. However, based on the story of the Trojan war in facts;

Analyzing the text this archaeological evidence about whether it was true the Trojan war or not, We will start from the German capital. In Berlin there are written references to the Trojan war. There is a file with letters to Agamemnon. As mentioned in the Iliad, Agamemnon, King of the Greek city of Mycenae, head large campaign came on against Troy (City of Asia minor, near the Dardanelles) that had to be punished for the snatching of the Greek Queen Helen of the Trojan King Parry. Agamemnon had allies from all over Greece and the Islands. After ten years siege Troy fell. Can the above love story it was cause war between superpowers of antiquity;

In the 13th century b.c.. There were large Empires in the Near East: the Babylonians (now in decline), the Assyrians, the Egyptians and the Hittites in present-day Turkey (M. Asia) that their sovereignty was up the Aegean. The bronze age capital of the Empire of the Hittites were the Chattoyses (Hattusas). In the 13th century b.c.. It was one of the largest cities with temples (Chief God was God of the storm), residences and a large Palace. Under Boghazkou (200 miles east of Ankara) was a breakthrough: a diplomatic archive written on clay tablets. Found 7 files in Boghazkou and the 1983 found a file Temple. The last traces of fire that devastated the region in 1180 e.g.. It is noted that the Hittites from the Assyrian people have fallen.

The 1906 German archaeologists have found 2500 clay tablets with cuneiform writing in Boghazkou. It was the chettaϊkoy Foreign Ministry files during the period was the Trojan war. The plates were transferred to Berlin and apokwdikopoiithikan after the first World War. In the Pergamon Museum emlich Forer, a Swiss engineer, He worked in the translation of the plates where he discovered names familiar from Homer, with repeated references to Troy, the Atreus (his father Agamemnon), Alexander (Homeric name of Paris) etc. Billboards recognize rather Greece as an important State.

In parallel with the kingdoms of the Middle East, that proanaferthisan above, There were polychryses Mycenae of Sliman was the richest Kingdom of Greece. At Mycenae had ruled a great King, Agamemnon, and this is probably the Chettaios Emperor had called in a letter “brother” and “equal”. In the 1950 's 1930 Forer's theory was rejected by the academic community. Though, the Greeks were in chettaϊka texts and the myth of the Trojan war is based on real events that recorded the Chettaios Emperor Chattoysilis the 3rd.

After decoding of linear writing texts II the 1952, We know that the Greeks the bronze age had diplomatic relations with Egypt. At Thebes, Egypt (current Karnak) There were commercial exchanges with Cretans and Greeks. Egyptian diplomats, as has been found in Egyptian inscriptions, they knew the Greek cities, notably Mycenae.

When Homer, Agamemnon was a great King of mainland Greece and islands such as Crete and Rhodes. This (that was a great King) recorded by the chettaϊko Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Homer calls the Greek Achaeans. The Hittites, in their inscriptions, refer to a powerful Kingdom in the West the: the Achiaba, meaning obviously the achaeans (Greeks). For that was the Achiaba (to which the chettaϊkes inscriptions) There are theories as that was in Thrace and Anatolia or Rhodes or mainland Greece (based in Mycenae). The Achiaba, indicate the chettaϊkes inscriptions, was a sea state with wide-ranging contacts and relationships with the Hittites sometimes friendly and sometimes hostile. The Governor of Achiaba (Greece;) referred to as “Great King” (Agamemnon;).

There is chettaϊki inscription describing a treaty between the Hittites and the Syrian State Amoyroy which was compiled for the Emperor Toyntchalis the 4th (son of Chattoysilis), After the Trojan war (12century BC). There the Toyntchalis naming the kings who were in the same category with him: the Kings of Egypt, of Babylon, of Assyria and finally the King of Achiaba. Though the inscription the word “Achiaba” It was diegrammeni and that means the King of Achiaba was no longer in the same category as other Kings or that the terms of the Treaty did not refer to him. Nevertheless, Some researchers take these findings from Greece and Agamemnon.

However, There is a large Kingdom in the West of the Hittites involved militarily and diplomatically with them and maintains trade relations with Syria and other States. And even called Achiaba. The description matches the achaeans (Greeks), Although there are archaeologists who compare the fact that there was no large Mycenaean rule, but many small fighting between them. Besides the ancient Greece was not a unitary State, but a patchwork of towns – States often fighting among themselves, but unite when they had to face a common enemy (Persians). Nevertheless, these archaeologists do not warrant a reference of the Chettaioy Emperor Chattoysilis of the 3rd he calls in his letter the King of Achiaba “brother”. Was the King of Achiaba Agamemnon, the King of Mycenae and Commander in Chief of the achaeans; Some scholars oppose again that even in Homer's Iliad Agamemnon played second fiddle in front of Achilles, the King of the Myrmidons.

Archaeological evidence confirms the presence of the Greeks in Asia minor, on the outskirts of the State of the Hittites. Greek vases found in 30 areas. In linear II listed 6 toponyms from I where the Greeks took Asian girls Drudge, While in 3 parts of southwestern Turkey, found evidence that inhabiting Greeks with main area of Miletus (We always talk about the bronze age). Miletus was then wall and Palace and into a graveyard of found objects imported from Mycenae. Miletus was a Mycenaean colony or a meeting of many neighbouring peoples area. In linear writing II signs the Miletus as import Asiatiswn area slaves by Greek rulers.

Though, When the Foreign Ministry chettaϊko, There was a city on the western coast of Asia minor who was under the control of Achiaba (The Achaeans – Greeks;) and it was called “Milabanta” and later “Milabata”. There was great conflict between the Hittites and the Achiaba city Milabanta. Miletus was the Milabanta; If Yes, then the Achiaba is the mainland Greece. Chettaϊkes signs described in copy of the letter of Emperor Chattoysilis of the 3rd Chettaioy to the King of Achiaba, with no names, around 1250 e.g., the era of the Trojan war. It is known as letter “Tabakalaba” and refers to a villainous named Piamaranto who was rather pushy Royal descent with action off the West Anatolia (in Asia minor) and they came into conflict with the Achiaba (Greece;) and with his brother: King of the Greeks (called by the Hittites as) Tabakalaba.

The Piamarantos their tromokratoyse allies of the Hittites to the West. Focus of discord was the city Milabanta or Milabata on the western coast of Asia minor who was under the control of Achiaba (Greeks;). The King of Hittites Chattoysilis the 3rd, to clarify things, wrote a letter to the King of Achiaba where he mentions the places passed traveling West, by which we recognize the capital of the Hittites: Chattoyses (Hattusas). Around 1250 e.g.. the Chattoysilis, starting from the capital of the Hittite Chattoyses, began the westward. In a week arrived in town Sallaba (current Sivrihisar, 100 miles west of Ankara in Turkey;). There the son brought non-reconciliation with the message Piamaranto. After the Chattoysilis reached the chettaϊko fortress Hapanuba (Afion) and from there went to Troy or Smyrna or on the coast opposite the island of Kos.

The Chattoysilis asked for help from the people of Lucca, the people who resided in Lycia in Asia minor (current Lysia) and who made raids in various regions, including Cyprus. The rather twisted Chattoysilis South Vilivanda city (Alabanda) and probably continued arriving at the Iyalanda fortress which was attacked by strikers folks whom eventually defeated. In the same city (as Alinda) There are earlier fortifications. There the Chattoysilis sent a letter to the King of Achiaba (Greece;) saying that: “We ran out of water and left their froyroymenoys 7000 captives whom, though, got the Piamarantos. When my brother's emissary, didn't bring friendly greetings and gift (as is customary) from thee, but that instructed the Governor of Milabanta to deliver the Piamaranto.”

The Chattoysilis probably got course Northwest towards the sea, parallel to today's Lake BAFA nature reserve which the bronze Bay formed. The mouth of the Maeander River was a large Bay where stood the city Milabanta (Miletus;). The Chattoysilis found reaching the Milabanta that the Piamarantos was gone and that the great King (Agamemnon;) did not allow him to capture the Piamaranto.

The dominance of Hittites in the West of Asia minor was unstable. Troy is located on the Strait of the Dardanelles in northwestern Turkey and there were originally excavated by the Germans Sliman and Nterkfelnt and the American Blegen. The Nterkfelnt discovered Troy No. 6 which was the capital of a Kingdom that had trade relations with Mycenae and destroyed at the time of Chattoysilis by earthquake or war. The Homeric Troy was probably Troy No. 7 (a). Homer mentions Troy as Ilion. The inscriptions there indicate as Taruisa and Wilusia. The era of the Trojan war, When the Emperor Chattoysilis the 3rd Chettaio, in Wilusia the Hittites came into conflict with the army of Achiaba (Greeks;). It was finally the Wilusia Troy;

The British Museum Store Treaty between the King of Wilusia and his brother Chattoysilis, Maybe the era of the Trojan war. The Chattoysilis asks for help from the Western ally. The Egyptians knew that the allies of the Hittites belonged and the people named Dardanoi, name that gives Homer the Trojans! The condition is referred to as Prince of Wilusia Alexander, name that gives Homer in Paris, Prince of Bilioy of Troy and her lover Greek Queen Helen (wife of King Menelaos of Sparta, his brother Agamemnon) which grabbed and was the occasion of the siege of Troy by the Greeks. Eventually the Wilusia ruined. Was the destruction of Troy or another city; It was the Chettaios ally Paris;

In the chettaϊko file which is preserved in the Museum of Berlin we conclude that just before climbing the Chattoysili of the 3rd on the throne of the Hittite 1263 e.g.. some in the Western protectorates of Hittites ceased to declare allegiance, based on the great King of Achiaba (Greece;). The Wilusia (probably the Troy) He was faithful to the Hittites. So, was attacked and destroyed by the Greeks. The 1982 discovered piece inscription that tie with his letter of 4th Toyntchalis, son of Chattoysilis. Refers to the space 1220 – 1230 e.g.. (After the Trojan war) . The inscription says that Alexander (Parris;), Prince of Wilusia (Troy;), had died and that the position of the Hittites laid a kiss on those adjoining the name Balmoy which later ekthronisane. The area of Wilusia (Troy;) was attacked and the Hittites soldiers moved west.

Was the city Wilusia, He remained faithful to the Hittites, Troy; The Hittites will recognize that the site Milabanta (Miletus;) It was under the sphere of influence of Achiaba (Greeks;). Though the kingdoms of Wilusia and Arzabas was in the sphere of influence of the Hittites. The crisis probably peaked between 2 era's superpowers. Was Troy No. 6 – with fine walls (I have uphill slope which describes and Homer) – or Troy No. 7A – with the parapigmata – the Homeric Troy; After Troy fell by Greeks or by Hittites; And what Troy; Me personally the whole story causes me a lot of questions. Worth to mention that I feel Agamemnon literally something like my ancestor, Since the origin of my family is from Mycenae and my last name is ancient (“manos” means sparse, Hence the Mani that has sparse vegetation, If and when other “manos” is he EC Manis). In my room I have to frame photo Golden funeral mask found in a tomb at Mycenae and attributed (Maybe wrong by Sliman) in Agamemnon.

GENIKOTERA INFORMATION ABOUT TROIA, THE ACHAIOYS AND THE TRANSMISSION OF GREEK CULTURE

It is worth mentioning that the Greek mythology provides many components for the transmission of Greek culture. In ancient Greek tradition is known the epics of Homer: Iliad and Odyssey, as well as various stories about the fate of the achaeans (tribe of ancient Greeks) heroes who participated in the Trojan war. One example was the King of Argos, Diomedes, son of the King of Aetolia, Tydea. In the Trojan war, Diomedes was involved with 80 ships (!) and it was the most valorous hero, After Achilles. Diomedes after the Trojan war returned to Argos. Though, betrayed by his wife, forced to leave his homeland and to leave with his comrades in Italy, in the Greek colony of Puglia where he became King. Apulia is a region in southwestern Italy. In ancient times in Apulia there were many Greek colonies and even today in many villages of the area residents speak Greek with a local idiom! In Puglia the Diomedes duel Aeneas encountered in.

Was a mythical hero Aeneas of Troy and 2nd largest after the Trojan hero Hector. After the kyrieysi of Troy by the achaeans, the Aeneas – According to tradition – He fled with his companions in Lazio, a region of Central Italy in which later built Rome. I.e. the Aeneas was the mythical and perhaps the real progenitor of the Romans and the founder of Rome. The Romans mention as founders of Rome the Rwmo or Romulus and Remus who like Tarzan the galoychise a Wolf! The Romans also had another legend that mentions that Rome was founded by the Sabinoys, an ancient people of Central Italy (Lazio) they resided near Rome. Obviously Roman myths are fictional and were created by the envy of the Romans who didn't want to admit that their country colonized first by the Greeks. That's because Aeneas was a Greek, After the Trojans were in fact Greeks!!! Nobody says that Troy was a Greek colony in the Troad region m. Asia! The Greeks called Troy: Ilion. The name Ilion comes from the King of Troy ilo who was son of Ilus and Kallirrois and grandfather of Priam. Priam was the son of King Laomedon of Troy, and was King of Troy during the Trojan war. He was killed by Achilles's son Astyanax.

Troy was founded by the mythical hero (the mythic doesn't always mean fantastic) Dardano of Thrace. From this the colony received its original name Dardania or Dardanus. However, the Dardanus, historical, was a colony of the Greek tribe of Aiolewn who descended from the cannon in the 21st century BC. By Dardano comes and the name of the Dardanelles (List Of Bleach Episodes). According to archaeological studies, the establishment of Troy dating 3200 e.g.. So, This reinforces the view that the Greeks had their settlements very early launch areas. Troy was named after the King of the Trojan. The son of Ilus and nymph Kallirrois was the Ganymidis, brother of the King of Troy, Group (see. before). Ganymede was the most beautiful new land which fell in love with Zeus and transformed to Eagle the kidnapped to Olympus where he welcomes you (He nectar) of the gods!!! Eventually, Zeus transformed him into a constellation which now call Aquarius. Ganymede is named and the satellite of Jupiter. But the Trojans made group of asteroids that are affected by the pull of the Dia!

Returning to Troy, It was a prosperous Greek colony that had developed the maritime trade. He had trade relations with Mycenae from the 13th century b.c.. In the middle of this century was and the war Allied Greek cities with the Trojans. General, wars between Greek cities was accustomed. The leader of the achaeans in the Trojan war Agamemnon was who was the brother of the King of Sparta, Menelaos [ see. Notes the (84) ] whose woman kidnapped from Sparta Paris (84), giving rise to the Trojan war. Agamemnon is probably a real person – King of Mycenae – who lived space 1200 – 1150 e.g.. (at Mycenae has found funeral mask attributed to Agamemnon). Participated in the Trojan war and King of magnesia (an ancient city in Thessaly) Philoctetes, who after the fall of Troy went to Italy where he founded many cities!!! Behind the myth that distinguished the colonization of Italy by the Greeks that began in the 13th century b.c.. and perhaps more before.

On this occasion Philoctetes was the one who killed Paris with one of the poisoned arrows had given Heracles. The Trojan war was a real event that was probably the 1250 e.g.. among the Greeks (The Achaeans) and Trojans, in Ilion (Troy). In mythology, in Sicily and Daedalus arrived with his wings (glider type) from Crete. It should be noted that there was a developed civilization in Crete by the 2800 e.g.. (age of bronze), maybe even more before. Sicily is perhaps the island of the Cyclops describing Homer's Odyssey. In this work reflected the explorations and the establishment of colonies by the ancient Greeks in the Mediterranean (Under Italy, Northern Africa) in the 13th century BC.. The difficulties at explorations himself reflects Trojan war. Behind the various stories and myths, revealed the fact that very early the ancient Greeks had founded colonies and were visited mainly coastal areas of the Mediterranean (M. Asia, Italy, Spain, France and North Africa), and of the Black Sea. The ancient Greeks called it “Hesperia” the Italy and Spain. These stories show, well, that the ancient Greeks had conquered the world as early as the 13th century BC., Although the author believes that they did before, the 3000 e.g.. ! Following, the colonization that will be reported as “second colonization” and will be placed in the 8th century BC., is the “official” colonization of the Greeks. In fact it started maybe 22 centuries before!!!

Before the 2000 e.g.. the Greeks were called “Pelasgians” and the Islanders “Aigaioi”. Known by the 3000 e.g.. (age of bronze) was the cycladic and Minoan (kritikos) culture. However, the oldest Greek civilization began. Archaeological excavations discovered developed culture in the Neolithic age (6000 – 2800 e.g.) in many Greek settlements, as for Apple's example. Oldest, though, Archaeological findings date back to Palaeolithic times (700000 – 8500 e.g.), with oldest find the world-famous “man of petralona” found in the cave of petralona in CHALKIDIKI. It was a skeleton of a man around 30 – 35 years (old at the time of) who lived approximately 600000 e.g.. (Although there are disagreements about the precise dating of the skeleton and whether indeed belongs to the man of Neanderthal considered isolated species from modern “man wise”). Also, the cave Fragchthi of Andhra Pradesh found human remains that date back approximately 17000 e.g.. the end of the Paleolithic era, and specifically in the last phase of “Boyrmias period” that is the last period of glaciation.

In and around Gytheion Mani found skull dating back to 150000 e.g.. Paleolithic artifacts found elsewhere such as tools on the banks of the river Pinios River louros and dating between 50000 – 35000 e.g.. A major finding is ripping “axe of Siatista” that belongs to the 100000 e.g.. Siatista Kozani Prefecture city is. Paleolithic artifacts found in ancient Thessalian city of Feres.

The above shows that Greece was inhabited by the 700000 e.g.. (beginning of the Paleolithic era) and recorded matter developed from culture 3000 e.g.. (the beginning of the bronze age) in Crete and the Cyclades. The Greeks since the Neolithic times they used weapons and tools.

From the Division of Indo-European populations arose omoethnias moved across Europe and Asia (Celts, Latinos, Medes, Persians, Indians, Prwtoellines). Later in Greece came from the North and the achaeans who created the Mycenaean (ysteroelladiko) culture (1600 – 1000 e.g.). General, fall of Indoeyrwpaiwn – Prwtoellinwn was accompanied by the transfer of their culture as their pottery type Kurgan graves (lakoeideis) etc. Was Accompanied, though, and with conflicts such as the destruction of Argissa of Lerna and the 21st century b.c.. Also, the achaeans have gone into occupation of Crete 1450 e.g., taking advantage of the island's destruction by earthquakes and by the great eruption of Santorini, which created enormous tidal waves. In the 15th century BC. the achaeans invaded and Cyprus which was in the hands of many – non-Greek – conquistadores, before you understand the achaeans.

As mentioned in ancient Egyptian text, in the 15th century BC. the achaeans with their Tyrsinoys their Ssakalass helped (see. following, rather, residents of Greece or Greek island of m. Asia), the Lykioys (the Lycia was in m. Asia) and Ssardanoys, in their campaign against Egypt – in the reign of Meneftha. The above Nations landed in Libya and helped the King of Mermagioy to face Egypt. Eventually, they lost the battle of the generals of Meneftha. In ancient Egyptian texts listed, on King of Tuthmosis III II (blessing. 1448 e.g.), as residents of Greece the Danaoi (as “Danaoyna”) who called elsewhere Achaeans. In the 12th century BC. the Danaoi and Tyrsinoi, as mentioned in Egyptian text, rallied with Teykroys (Cypriots), the Lykioys and the Philistines (ancient people of Palestine) and battled against Egypt by land and sea, in the reign of Ramses II's c (1198 – 1166 e.g.). The Ramses II c II effectively rebuffed “people of the sea”.

In earlier Egyptian texts the achaeans are referred to as “Aigaiwasch” (Akaϊoybas) as most Egyptologists were rather the achaeans of Greece or of… Caucasus!!! The last mentioned why there is the theory that the achaeans arrived up the Caucasus and formed the population of Hai that is Armenians, Since Armenia is Chaϊestan!!! Besides, There is also a legend that says that some Achaeans after the Trojan war to the Caucasus apoplanithikan. Maybe it is random and myths initially reported (Prometheus, Hercules, Argonauts) and speaking for the Caucasus! The Hai is a corruption of the word Achaeans. However, the correlation of Danaon and on of the achaeans to the names “Danaoyna” and “Akaϊoybas” the Egyptian inscriptions are from many scholars arguably. With regard to the relationship of the achaeans with Egypt, It is no coincidence that in the Iliad and the Odyssey by Homer much talk on Phoenice and Egypt (Homer referred to even in the construction of the pyramids), which shows the cultural influence of the Greeks with these folks. Repeats that in the Iliad described the Trojan war that was probably the 1250 e.g..

The theory that Greek Danaoi were attacked in Egypt, According to the Egyptian texts, confirms and Greek mythology. In Greek mythology the founders Danaon was Danae (daughter of the King of ARGOS Akrisios which became Jupiter Perseus) or according to another tradition it was the Danaids. The Danaides were the 50 daughters of Danaos. Danaos was son of the King of Egypt and of Agchirois Biloy, daughter of the Nile (the Neileas was King of Egypt). The Belus was the son of Poseidon and Libya and twin brother of Agenor who was King of phoenice. The Agenor with Telephassa acquired Cadmus and Europe. The Cadmus was the founder of Thebes. Danaos in Europe (his cousin) aquired 50 Danaides.

Danaos had a twin brother named Egypt and was King of Egypt. The above names indicate the cultural relations of the ancient Greeks with the neighboring peoples. The Egypt had 50 sons of whom decided to marry with the 50 daughters of Danaos. Though, the Danaids did not want to marry the sons of Egypt and escaped with their father in Argos, where he gave them asylum, the King of the city, Pelasgus. Though, the 50 sons of Egypt arrived in Argos in order to get the Danaids. To avoid the war, the Pelasgus begged the Danaids to agree to marry them. The Danaids pretended that accept, but the same night of the wedding – with their father's order – they killed their husbands, except the Ypermistra which Danaida fled with his son Egypt, Lygkea. The rest were sentenced to hell to fill a bottomless pithari. The Danaides were the nymphs of fountains, in Greek mythology.

At the time of delivery after the Danaids exagnistikan syzygoktonia from Athena and Hermes and married Argeians (inhabitants of Argos). So, the Danaides were founders Danaon who, When Homer, were the inhabitants of Argos. Danaos was King of Argos and taught the locals the irrigation, the cultivation of land and the letters. The above legend confirms that the Danaoi arrived in Egypt, in the context of cultural knowledge and within war described by Egyptian texts. In the above mentioned the Danaoi texts and the achaeans. Though, the Danaoi were not only name of a neighbouring city, but generally the Achaeans (and when Homer if you remember the words of Laokownta – “Beware the Greeks even when they bring gifts and bearing”). Also, the name of the King of Argos, Pelasgus, It is no coincidence.

Homer mentions as Achaeans sympantes Greeks and especially the residents of an area in Fthiotida. It is recalled that the other 3 Basic Greek tribes were the Ionians, the Aeolians and dorians. Though, Homer does not mention the Aeolians. Also, as Ionians calls the Athenians, While the dorians – in the Odyssey – the places in Crete!!! Maybe, in a groundbreaking theory of the writer, Homer called Achaeans to the Pelasgians who initially dominated in Greece at the end of the 3rd millennium b.c.. The most likely, though, is called Achaeans sympantes Greeks, implying that the achaeans were the dominant Greek tribe. According to another view, Homer does not mention as Achaeans all Greeks, but the race of the achaeans who originally settled in Southern Thessaly, the Sterea Greece (Hence the placement of the Achaeans from Homer in Fthiotida) and in the Peloponnese.

Before mentioned that Pelasgians prevailed in Greece in the late 3rd millennium BC.. and predominated in Thessalia. Ancient people of Thessaly was the Dolopes, and who was also known pirates based in Skyros. However, It is worth noting that the ancient Thessaly came, upon delivery, EC of Epirus. I.e., There is a link of the inhabitants of the continent (see. before Dodóni) and the Pelasgians of Thessaly. The 1st Millennium b.c.. the Pelasgic Argos in Thessaly was called. But even in the Argos in the Peloponnese was reported above the city's King Pelasgus. The legend says that Pelasgus was the Danao city with 50 daughters of, the Danaids, When escaped from Egypt. The Danaids married Argeians and they were founders Danaon who was not only the inhabitants of Argos, but the achaeans in General. I.e., against the myth that, the Pelasgians preceded the Achaeans.

More likely is the Pelasgians being redesignated Greeks even when they bring, IE Achaeans. According to the historian Herodotus (18) as Pelasgians out (I, 56, 58) notably iones, Unlike the Greeks called with this name the dorians in the Peloponnese!!! Thucydides (4) mentions that the inhabitants of Aetolia omiloysan, mostly, an unknown language. And yet, in the Homeric years (in the 13th century) the Aitwleis were Greeks! The answer to the whole question is simple. The inhabitants of Greece before the 2000 e.g.. were the Pelasgians and Aigaioi. By the 21st century b.c.. downloaded in Greece, from the North, the prwtoellinikes tribes who belonged to the Aryan (Indo-European) clan.

In what, What concerns the Pelasgians, the descent in the 21st century BC. from the North of the Aryans tribes and later the Achaeans had as a result the Pelasgians eliminated or reduced in some areas such as Aetolia and in general the Sterea Greece and Thessaly. Besides, these areas were originally prevail the Pelasgians. So, According to this view interpreted and one of the theories of the writer referred to the fact that Homer puts the Achaeans in an area in Fthiotida, so perhaps refers to the Pelasgians. Homer, also, indicate the Myrmidons. They were residents of Thessaly with their leader Achilles. The name Fthiotida comes from the mythical hero Fthio who was the son of the Achaean, progenitor of the achaeans.

In antiquity the Fthiotida called “Fthiwtis Achaia”, because inhabiting the achaeans. The question is why Homer puts the Myrmidons in Thessaly and the achaeans in Phthia. The answer is that probably in the history of Homer included the Pelasgians who came to Greece in the 3rd millennium BC.. and the achaeans who came to Greece after the 19th century BC. So, Homer mixes facts about the prwtoellinikes tribes and refers to a period in which the achaeans were Greece and occupy the Pelasgians were curtailed in Thessaly and Central Greece. Can hardly give a clear position on the issue, Once in Thessaly and Central Greece initially dominated the Pelasgians, but in the same areas (and in the Peloponnese) settled down later and the achaeans!!! Therefore, the Myrmidons that Homer mentions maybe were Pelasgians, While the achaeans of Fthia referred rather hadn't compared with pelasgous. Can, though, and had! Everything is possible, After the Pelasgians were martial race like the achaeans.

Mythology gives its own position on the issue. Deucalion, described before as the survivor and the progenitor of the human race, He became the King of Fthia in Thessalia!!! His children were the Greek Deucalion, the Amfiktywnas (founder of amfiktioniwn) and Protogeneia. Hence the Greek from the mythology is placed in Thessalia and thus becomes a reference to the Pelasgians who dominated in Thessalia. The Greek with the nymph Orseis acquired Aeolus, the gift and the Xoytho. Aeolus was the headman of Aiolewn and dorus of the dorians. The Xuthus with Creusa acquired IONA and Achaeus, the founders of the achaeans and Ionians, respectively! The inhabitants of Argos and Grand achaeans referred to as Danaoi. Danaos, as stated above, He was the progenitor of the neighbouring city and father of Pit.

The Myrmidons referred to by Homer were inhabitants of Thessaly. In mythology, their origin was from Aegina (!) and their progenitor was Peleus who was the son of Eakos, the King of Aegina. His brother Pileas, Telamon, became King of Salamis. The Telamwn was the father of AJAX of Telamwnioy who took part in the Trojan war and founded the colony Tefkrou Salamis in Cyprus. The hero Achilles was the son of Peleus and Thetidos and was King of the Myrmidons with whom was campaigning in the Trojan war. His mother Thetis was – in mythology – Nereid. The Nereids, the calm sea deities, were the daughters of Nereus (son of the Earth and of the Sea) and Doridos (daughter of Oceanus). Here's matching Gift can be observed and Doridos and aligning them with the dorians who descended in the 11th century BC. in Greece. Peleus was the son of the King of Aegina, Eakos. Peleus was King of Fthia Thessaly which reigned and Deucalion!!! The heart friend of Achilles, Patroclus, He was son of Menoitioy and were by the Opoynta of Locris (area of the Thermopylae until the Lake Copais). Menoetius was the brother of Titan Prometheus (son of Iapetus who was son of heaven and Earth). The son of Prometheus was Deucalion, the progenitor of the human race!!! About Achilles, descended from the Royal lineage of the molossians. The area of ancient Greece “Molossis” It was located in the area occupied by the current Epirus and southern Albania that was the Greek North Epirus. In Northern Epirus was originally the Greek tribe of Paronaewn. The Molossis area was named after mythical King Molosso, who was the son of Neoptolemus and Andromache. The Kingdom of Epirus, Neoptolemus founded the. We do not have here a link to the Dodona in Epirus, which was extensive reference above;

So, everything in Greek mythology associated with each other, as well as with Greek history. Homer refers to the Trojan war, who was in the middle of the 13th century BC. (rather the 1250 e.g.) Though, It appears that Homer stirs – like the Greek mythology, but historians and writers of antiquity – the history of the emergence of tribal prwtoellinikwn that occurs without historical sequence. But for whom Homer once referenced there is the “Homeric question” about the real author of the Iliad and Odyssey and whether Homer was a real person ; It is strange a, upon delivery, blind man (even the name Homer means blind) to outlining historical facts and myths associated with the colonization of the Mediterranean, the voyages of the ancient Greeks and also lists a number of ethnological and folklore items. When the writer the two epics are compilations of traditions and historical events that have been alienated by the mythology. Besides, in these epics shows the same phenomenon in Greek mythology: various historical events (Greek tribes and regions, wars, founding the colonies) presented alienated, mixed and the myth has been tied inextricably with the historical reality…

Very early, the Greek cities – States founded numerous colonies in the wider Mediterranean region and the Middle. Asia in which metalampadeysan the virtues and ideals of Greek culture. The ancient Greeks always have the fireplace (the sacred fire) and the bones of their ancestors when their colonies set up trading. Also, transferred and their culture and developing the sciences, the arts and letters. From time immemorial the Greeks sailed – as Herodotus says: “in emporian and thewrian II”, i.e. for the trade and the exchange of material and spiritual goods with foreign peoples. The Greeks were masters of the seas. They had greater strength in commercial and later in Navy.

The ancient Greeks founded colonies throughout the Mediterranean, in the Black Sea (Black Sea) and in North Africa. The cities of Minoan Crete and the Cyclades were, already from the 3000 e.g., conquer the Mediterranean, long before the “official” settlements and are sure they had established colonies in the broader Mediterranean coast. The Cretans, as early as the second millennium BC., they had conquered the Eastern Mediterranean with their ships – before the Phoenicians – and had reached even in Egypt, in Lebanon, in Mesopotamia and other parts of Southwest Asia. E Also, There are Minoan (of ancient Crete) effects in Afghanistan!!! General, in Mesopotamia had expanded the Greek trade and in subsequent years. Mycenae in the second half of the 15th century were trade and trading posts and colonies in the western coast of m. Asia (for example in Cilicia – region of southeastern m. Asia), in Egypt, at syriopalaistiniakes shores, in southern Italy and Sicily.

It is certain that the ancient Greeks had extended, with the colonies, from the Caucasus, as Gibraltar and as Plato: “the colonies looked like frogs around a pond”. Indeed, the Pytheas from Marseille (Greek colony of Fwkaewn) at the end of the 4th century BC. passed Gibraltar (Hercules the ancient Greeks) by ship and then circumnavigated the England! Then sailed the “Thule” (was the Iceland or Norway) and then sailed to the Baltic and arrived on the island of Heligoland and at the mouth of the Elbe River in Germany and the Vistula River in Poland!!! The Pytheas charted the area and also measured the length of the coast of England!!! End, the ancient Greeks may have arrived to the shores of America.

Theogefyra- diabologefyra
Diavologefyro in Divri
“…is Devil's work, who fooled the Miller Yiannaros dibriwtis "

People of ancient times were trying to interpret giϊna and celestial natural phenomena. But could not identify and understand them and for this reason that the attributed to supernatural powers.
The stone bridges scattered, gorgeous, integral pieces of technical culture and the Greek landscape, blend harmoniously with nature and lend a special charm to the rivers, over which haughty stand.

E is linked inextricably with folktales, jokes, Proverbs, battles, buzzwords, historical events, Testimonials, legends and traditions.
The disasters during or after their justification, developed world's imagination, that placed in supernatural powers, enemies of Masons especially but also of bridges, you to soothe and soften committed many times to human sacrifice and related persons.
The darkness for the Greek was considered unseemly for the character of, distant and connected with bizarre and strange beings who had supernatural characteristics and abilities, with night creatures, demons or gnomes and vampires.
Fairies that will…get parafylagan in the canyons and in shady places with running water and bridges and I didn't have to talk because I'll get been speechless.
The fairies, the Elves, the aerika was so connected with the life of Greek, so many villages have the prefix fairy.
The dragons are mythical monsters residing mainly at sources of rivers (drakoneria). There are many Dragon myths that prevent the use of water and other heroes where they try to kill them.

Theogefyro (gods bridge) in kalamas. Pogoniani. (Lum v. Boucouvalas)

Sometimes the gnomes of rivers soften, presented very sensitive and romantic, as in the following folk song:

Tragoydage blonde daughter at stone bridge
and from the sad purpose, the sad song,
and the bridge broke and the river estathei
and the River on the edge of GNOME epetachthei
and a pedestrian shouted over the dorsum.
Changed the icho and daughter tell another song,
to move the river, to mingle the bridge
and the poltergeist of the River at the place to go.

Typical are the legends for the bridge of Arta (There are 333 variants of the song) with the sacrifice of his wife Master Builder, LaDon (Bridge Kera) that was haunted because in its foundations were sacrificed two people to hold, lantern in Andritsaina, of hair in Trabzon of Pontos k s.

A legend tells us about how he built "the bridge of the devil" in the river Chrysorroa ethra, on the road from Galatas to Nafplio.

Beneath the Devil's bridge crosses the River Farm (the material of the ancients). The Pasha of the region, in order to go comfortably to hunt, commissioned in’ a craftsman to bridge the river of Damala, the Chrysorroa. The point, however, had great difficulty because the two rocks that you rested the bridge was too far between them. After two failed attempts and with the risk of decapitation by Pasha, the master builder agreed with the devil who appeared in front of, and selling of his soul, steriwse bridge. The Pasha of dwrise a jar gold florins, but the master builder was unable to be happy over six years because a day crossed the bridge, to go to the place where he hides the treasure, fierce wind to pick up and away. At the same time lightning burned the House and family of this, who sold his soul to the devil. They Say, that the cliffs around the bridge traces resemble goat is the Devil's footprints, and so created the myth.
A myth, that happened almost everywhere believable and referred to by law. Citizen on "Traditions" of, says that: "The underworld the psychais must go through a bridge, from the Trichino bridge. This is fteno like hair, and shaken very. Any soul can not pass, the river's falls that runs TextBox below and lost ".

The nature, sometimes functioning as excellent craftsman, slowly, without haste, slowly but surely, with excellent technique and Giacosa, everlasting durability and perfection, gave him many times in the brisk man relentlessly art lessons, making few but wonderful bridges without the slightest involvement and intervention.

Amazing these natural structures the wisdom of our folk tradition named "Theogefyra", Although few are scattered in’ all Greece.

Near Zitsa Ioannina, stoThyami (Kalama), the diavologefyro of Belentziko Moyrmoyritsas in Arta, in Pogoniani, in Kladeo near the village of Lust in the Peloponnese, in Souli below the village Tsagkari, the Diavologefyro in Damala Ethra, or Diabologefyra the stream of timios Prodromos near Serres and diavologefyro in Dibri of Ilia is some of the above, that our people cared to ntisei and to invest with myths, legends, traditions, superstitions and superstitions enabling them vitality and eternity.

Feature is one of hundreds of folk songs, variation of previous, referred to "gnomes":

Korasion from on bridge
and the bridge broke, and the river Stathis
and the river that stoicheion aside ebgike
~ my daughter, stop the achon and say another song.
~ Ah, How to cease the achon and another to say song
I have a male m’ arrwston Ki arrwstikon I am searching.

Such bridges made the nature, the world said "Theogefyra". What made the man in difficult areas, that seemed unlikely to make the world named "Diabologefyra", because you believed that was Devil's projects.
With the passage of centuries, however,, because of the difficulty of construction of both, the above concepts concurred and called Theogefyra or Diabologefyra.

The "Diavologefyro" in Divri is known in Greek, through the "Traditions" of the ethnographer Nicholas Citizen (Athens 1965) browser and Xr. Korylloy the 1891.

It is a natural passage of water of Dibriwtikoy River or stream of Klompokis, that has eroded the rock and has created a natural bridge, a Theogefyro (gods bridge).

But the local legend wants the bridge this is Devil's work, who fooled the Miller name dibriwtis "Υannaros", as narrated in the dibriwtes n. Citizen before the 1900. the narrative of the citizen says:

"The dekaimera turning diaboloi, that the Kallikantzaroys or Katsi Len-mpoycheroys, and the stamnais olais magarizoyn and balls and whatever else would be's home. ΄S the mills have all eleytero to do whatever they want, why the devil ediataxe how to help people the grinder, that alone is not ixeyran. Made so forais pollais the street from talogo's the grinder and’ from the mill's talogo, as that roosters k lalisan’ they left, without eyroyn. Whatever their "background", These sites have something special and often exude a mystery, a riddle. The forces of those sites relative to humans and on activities of. Their influence is positive or, sometimes negative, While many times is still "lucky" or therapeutic!

MYKONOS AND ARACHOVA

Won't you go away. Take for example two of the most tourist attraction ' poles ' of Greece. Mykonos "international jet-set ' and arahova, the «winter» Mykonos. What audiences had both places; Firstly, that their inhabitants were not in "Sun fate». Some struggled with the winds of the Aegean, that rarely allowed them to go fishing and the pagwnies and the snows of Mount Parnassus. Though, they were very close to two of the most powerful energy centers of Greece: Mykonos ' next ' on Delos and arahova in distance from Delphi! You tell me why this has not been the case in other places "adjacent" with Delphi or Delos; First of all it happened, but to a lesser extent.

All Cyclades (they are so named because they form a circle around the sacred island of Delos) constitute a point of reference for lovers of Greece around the world and the most adored destination Earth (and not only!). The same applies to the villages or sites located in the vicinity of Delphi and Arachova.

AMORGOS AND SANTORINI

Speaking of Greece would like to emphasize a "weird" fact or better a "statistical", I've found from friends and friends of friends. Many of the couples who spent vacations in Thira (Santorini), they lived a kind of crash-test in their relationship and were not few those who divorced! Instead, the island of AMORGOS, It is a place of tranquility, serenity and positive sexual energy!

ATHENS

But let's get even closer. Such places are everywhere, Some even are beside us, the encounter on our daily paths. Before long , Grigoris Arnaoutoglou, through the broadcast of the "beautiful world 2», in dedication for haunted houses, He made reference to the Hill of evening jogging, located in the center of Athens, adjacent to the Kallimarmaro. «Weird» happening there aspects, stressed residents and certainly have no unfair.

The point is located in a very central location in Athens. In front of the national swimming pool, over the road that leads from the street Kallirrois in Kallimarmaro, There are ruins of the Temple of Artemis Agrotera. The houses are demolished and there no one takes their trading. The "atmosphere" that exudes space is quite unpleasant for most people.
Another such region identify in tinos, in Falatados, and granite Gelidokamaras Gallery, from which allegedly went by the Gelidoydes (fairies).

CRETE

On the plateau of Omalos, in Crete there is dark and scary Cave of Tzani. It is called so because there was someone with this name, While it is speculated that in lost's labyrinthine galleries and many others. The sensation caused when someone enters in this, It's frightening. This is a highly charged with negative energy part that causes panic and intense stress to visitors.

In Crete, again, tsoutsouros, a small and unknown village in the wider area of ierapetra, It is a very negative part with heavy atmosphere and strong ' unionized» sea. Maybe, It is no coincidence that many of the children living and growing up there is, Unfortunately, late.

However, some areas of Crete are especially rich in both archaeological finds and legends. One of them is the ancient Inachus, current Tsoytsoyras, featured in TV shows metaphysical and paranormal nature as one of the most mysterious areas of our country, and maybe the planet.

It is not excluded that this is due to the name of, which is directly linked to the cave of ancient fertility goddess Eilithias, that was different and Inati. According to researchers of ancient languages the etymological analysis of the Word includes the "th" as in "not" gets accusative and mean power, the "to" which means temple and the "the" that determines the space.

Inati well means "space with Temple featuring power" and thus likely to explain some great energy power available to the erstwhile Tsoytsoyras and Inachus, name that also comes from the depth of time, from the time that the Cretans maintained trade with the Egyptians and means "father and son of RA».

All of the above of course is interpretations can be arbitrary, and the only sure thing is that the great strength of Tsoutsouros lurks in archaeological treasures amythitoy value found in the subsoil of the, for years, causing the looters. Typical is the case of, 75time today, Manolis Kefalaki, who brought to the surface some of the major findings that came out so far in Tsoutsouros, order course in their own, something that cost him seven years prison. Excavations of the paid, but his findings were lost along the way and definitely some cashed remaining intact… Source: stigmes.gr “

Many of the areas with intense energy usually host churches, buildings dedicated to deities, or just some boulders several tonnes that are fitted with a separate way. Many of the recent dating thousands of years, While even today their placement is a mystery, after allegedly people of those times had no such transport possibilities. Just bear in mind that we now have similar machines! "Horrific" example, the Easter Island:
The ancient peoples and of course, the ancient Greeks, They considered the Earth as a living organism. It was believed that our planet has "sources" that other offered for human survival and other eliminate all,What is not useful, just as it does and the human body. Consequently, the ' waste land ' is harmful to humans, but also for any other organism lives there.

SITES WITH POSITIVE ENERGY

Let's see, now, some sites with good and positive energy for humans. In Athens there are several, We must bear in mind that in too many places today is oikodomimenoi parishes. Very simply, too many churches, mainly, of past centuries, are built up in the remnants of ancient shrines. The reason was that they tried to take advantage of the power of such sites. Modern churches, do not follow this rule, Despite little. A walk up to the Church of Zoodochou Pigis Street Academy will convince you. See ancient columns that adorn the temple and the marble "table" in the back yard!
The Acropolis there is Asklepieion, located near a source of. The spring water from the ancient years considered miraculous and thermal. Even today, that in place, was built Church of Zoodochou Pigis. The area retains a hers "performed" air and water gives vaccines to over with power, those who drink.

In maroussi is a small white chapel with courtyard, dedicated to AI Yannis. Dating from the 15th century and is built on the foundations of the ancient temple of Artemis Amarysias. Once approaching someone there immediately begins to feel serenity, rejuvenation and relaxation. As if lost in an all problems. The Ai Yannis in maroussi, offers not only positive energy and healing.

The Parnitha region characterized by the positive energy that emits. The mountain is full of sources. The waters of Mount Parnitha is digestive, and thermal, because they contain large amounts of soda, calcium and iodine.
Many legends and stories about fairies and elves figuring out the source of "kera" near the top of the mountain. Located at an altitude of 1.164 measures. Anyone who has the courage to climb up there and drink from the water of, It is said that you will succeed in life of many. You will feel a higher power to the floods, After first being able to "coordinate" with the vibration of the ground and managed to ' see ' the ' magic ' power of the source, which literary, you could say that appears like an elusive fairy. Hikers should drink and bathed with water the source of kera.

Many of you will have heard of or would have been the point in Penteli where cars get ... more parakroysi. Climb uphill by themselves! The same phenomenon is observed and at Livithra Pieria…

Just outside Athens, After the marathon Lake there is the monastery of Vrana, over at Mount Aphorism. The monastery is built on the ruins of the ancient temple of Demeter and Chthonias at the opening of a cave, sealing the entrance of. From this cave flowed and continues to tumble, σήμερα, from the height of the Bell Tower, myrrh! Myrrh has been uplifting properties of spiritual forces, Les and gives us the impetus to unite with God!

In Evia, on the north side of Oktwnia village, in a natural environment of rare beauty, the monastery is built Waterfall, in the name of Saint Dimitriou. The waterfall near the monastery there are many miraculous properties.

In warm or Baths, in Samothrace, the hot Sulphur Springs, is famous since ancient times for its healing properties. The miraculous waters of the Fountain Ypereias, in Velestino, help too in gynecological diseases and postoperative situations.

Especially miracle is and some fountains in Portaria in Pelion's milies. The water quality is such, that surpasses the reputation of Serbia's water. Talking about "water of immortality", that gladdens the heart and regenerates man.

The small island across from Palata Naxos town, is the door, (or "Portara"), the only part that remains of the ancient temple of Apollo. The place exudes intense positive energy that fills the place.

On the island and in the region of Chalara, located in the North of the island, the mountainside is torn in countless slices. When the cross, We feel our showers to a vast power and while we walk quite not feel any fatigue.

Fot : El. Kalogera Syros

A nazitwntas power places in Syros, sooner or later will lead to X alara. T a X alara is very common name in the toponym of Syros map. Y there are at least four sites with this name. T a X alara located north, at a distance 600-700 meters from the fountain Syringe, is an extremely captivating and strange place, that seems to be hiding a sacramental power. This is a mountainside, torn in countless slices. We could assume that these fissures have been created by someone earthquake or by soil movement. A difference of lla sensation when we enter in the cracks and the chaotic modulation of natural environment in’ These, leave us with the impression that this place is not created by natural causes: E is made from the material that made the myths… A count and when we are near that area or look from the top of the mountain-about 30 with 40 metres tall- We cannot understand the existence of the site. A lthough most fissures have width over 2 meters, the traffic in them is done with difficulty. E ld Europe still has it is possible to go climbing and descending from one slot to another, We can hardly find out where we will be able to go through this natural labyrinth. T the height of rocks that create the slots starting from 3-4 meters and reaches a lot more. M painoyme p’ this peculiar place always from the same point: a hole in a light-colored rock, who we erpontas. M just look inside, Here's a strange shock. E is like to abandon the entire known world and to attempt an attempt of exploration in a new world… M painontas the maze of ruptures, with the entrance hole just a couple of metres behind us, the first thing you discover is that we have become dominated by a strange feeling: N iwthoyme the presence of a primeval force. However, We realize that there is no Flash no indication of life in’ these fissures! There are no insects or bugs or reptiles or small animals or birds in the sky (Although the region is a known place for hunting…). The vegetation is limited to a few yellow Lichen on the rocks. M although the humidity is excessive and wet rocks, There are no weeds or other plant traces. Due to the specific nature of the landscape the rays without touching the ground only a few minutes during the midday, Although between the slits is bright. Moving, We too many rocks whose tops are perfect natural pyramids, While the fissures are dispersed by holes and Burrows undefined depth and direction. A n do bother to look at the clock, We understand that time flies differently in there… Often, to move 500-700 measures within the fissures, Reinventing amazed that under our watch have spent almost two hours. K I this is not the case because of the difficulty in walking… Beyond the feelings of AWE that overwhelm us, We fill a vast power. Suddenly, We understand that there is no trace of tiredness in our body, While none of our problems we followed in the slits… N iwthoyme for awhile that we travel in’ another space and’ another time, but eventually we discover that we are not elsewhere… but “nowhere”… O attentive reader will surely be noted from the above description that X alara have all the elements that characterize a “neraϊdotopo”. The area could be characterized as “aornos stone” According to the definition given by the ancient sages in areas with special power, because of that birds avoid flying over their lands. The behavior of birds associated with the natural instinct of orientation, which lost in areas with intense physical magnetic activity. It is interesting to make some additional remarks, which can help any wants to investigate more, to draw their own conclusions. The region around X alara called Strobilia, something that we suspect that refers to strobilismoys and disturbances resulting from the existence and studied the currents. According to the Pythagorean â rithmosofia, the lexarithmos of the word Λ APA is XA 733, and the lexarithmoi of phrases in AIA YPIH and c A c IA p YPIH… EC OF THE www.paranormap.net

On our visits to these sites should be taken seriously, that should not get there with the bias that I feel something specific. Must not reach the places of power like the subject that will confirm or disprove their truth. Our feelings must be pure.

LAND OUT POWER AND GEOMETRY

All the places of power marked by shrines and temples, connected to each other with imaginary lines and form isoskeli or equilateral triangles, polygons, or other geometric shapes. The most known triangles are formed between Delphi in Olympia and the Citadel, the Afea (in Aegina) sounion and the Parthenon.

The houses and towns developed around the places of power are designed so, in order to ' work ' like halls of temples, associated with other temples – power sites, other cities and all along, temples and cities – buildings, It was these small land force.
Each building, from the simplest houses and public buildings, built to work and they like small land force. Constituted, i.e., mediums of Oikodynamis, the ancient Greek ' Feng Shui ' and forwarders health and bliss to all the inhabitants. All homes have met the Entelechy the, and Entelechy in one dwelling is the bliss of people living within this. For bliss, Besides, and not for the malaise, made all.

The ancient Greeks, well, After having studied and experienced nature and all places of power, identified the "vibrations" of dwellings and their positions among the, and the fitting-out of premises, so that these things that exist within these to have the appropriate class, mood, functionality, symmetry and comeliness, in order to seamlessly connect with the remaining buildings and cities and all together with nature, to provide strong power sites.
In other words the buildings, even the simple houses was placed in specific locations, with the aim to create a perfect musical instrument»: initially the town and cities the Greece and its colonies! The houses, like a great Orchestra musical instruments, ' playing ' and ' been coordinated "with nature that directs this Orchestra, so the Entelechy to "returns" or "that resonates" a harmonious Oikodynami.

THE PLACES OUT POWER AND THEIR SECRETS

What is, But what makes the places mentioned special and so very positive; Because these sites are full of power and why others give us feelings of anxiety, depression or us ill;
As I said originally, our planet is a living organism, I see now some specifics of this organization. Most of the places of power are characterized by intense terrain and by the tectonic abnormalities of the Earth's crust, like Meteora. It has also been observed that important role plays the magnetic field, but the earthly and cosmic radiation!

The Earth is surrounded by a huge energy grid lines, forming pentaedra, looks like IE with a huge soccer ball. The nodes located on the associations identified the major shrines and monuments of humanity, as is the Parthenon, the great pyramid in Egypt, the Stooynchents in m. Britain.

You still need to mention the telloyrika currents, which is of course electric currents, flowing over horizontal surfaces found on Earth. When a telluric currents meet an underground water vein, then the magnetized water and medicinal properties.
Many of the actions that are released, work negatively for humans, particularly in the intersecting points. Though, in ancient times many folks, but the Greeks, they had found a way to neutralize the negative energy of a place, just by putting in very precise triangular formations, "dolmen" to "cleanse" the area. The same result has been the construction at the heart of negative pyramid or canopy sites, that refract the negative radiation.

«Dolmen» means «stone table». Something we encounter in AMORGOS. The locals call it trapezopetri or God's table. Worth at this point to note that the Amorgos, with Delos and Keros, are the strongest land force in Cyclades, with an abundance of positive energy. The ancient Greeks even, they had gone even farther, by neutralizing the negative sites. The energy and the power of space, had found the way and the exploited therapeutically. All asclipia are built with special ways in very specific places of power. The layout and cutting of stones were alternately positive and negative charge, Thanks to their molecular composition.

With specific hymns and invocations to reinforce the region's vibrations pulsing and the patient cured faster. This happen, because, as nowadays has proven, the man has his own natural electricity. When this is reduced due to some disease, slowed and treatment. But if the patient "acquire" the electricity that it lacks, then the immune system is working normally and the patient quickly finds the health of. Something was happening and at Epidaurus, the most well-known unknown by asclipia! Yes! Epidaurus was a huge Hospital of antiquity, where the Theater played the role of "spiking" and resuscitation via the ' vibrating ' speech, from the "works" of large addition!

THE "MAGIC", THERAPEUTIC EPIDAYROS

Here, you quote an interview to the writer of the Greek national theatre actor Sotiris Vagia, that gives answers to the "mysteries" of the theater of Epidavros.
"I had just graduated from the dramatic school of the National Theatre, When I phoned my teacher of dance inspired by interpretive, Maria Chors, and suggested me to join the dance project "Oedipus at colonus", that would drive up at Epidaurus Alexis Minotis.
A magical landscape of our theatre, that no one could deny his size and his wisdom in the area of ancient drama. It was a challenge for me (a new actor then) the cooperation at the ancient theatre of Epidaurus and this historic performance.
Entering the space of the Orchestra (So said the scene) and watching the theatre below, do you think that is a huge Eagle, that or I'll get him to fly or I devoured.

The Epidavros, the theatre of Epidaurus and the whole area has a magic power, an action almost extraterrestrial, a calm in the landscape and at the same time a frightening intensity. Playing nine consecutive summers there with the "Auditorium" of Spyros Evangelatos small but leading roles, as the "Jonas" by Euripides, I felt and realized (After these years) that the actor onstage is like flies over the theatre and over the heads of spectators. Don't feel that you're down to Earth, but in the air.
Before each performance sounds the Eurasian scops owl, This bird that I just dropped the Sun, gives the signal, or rather is the Bell of the show, for many centuries. A chirping at regular intervals, that puts it in the process of stage fright and self-reflection.
The theatre of Epidaurus is very "cooperative" with the actors, but also very dangerous if the claims and endorsements yourself superior to this catalytic, sacred space.

A world-famous actor and Star (from her movies), He played there said: "There are no sacred places, There are holy people ". This was the first and last time I played in the ancient theatre.
I'm sure that the theatre should be made looking from above (i.e. from top to bottom), Maybe not built by human beings. The unique acoustics still remains a mystery for many archaeologists. Alexis Minotis became furious when a press the actress thymeli. The considered sacrilege.
Going to the theatre space don't see from anywhere, Despite only reaching over (at the entrance). Like to be hidden inside the mountain, to protect his sacred presence over the centuries.

In the expression of "Iona", coming out in the Orchestra felt the 8.000 viewers are with me down and not at their posts. A feeling weird, where time and place are lost, the theatre is except time and off-season, like to be empty of spectators. That there is audience understand just finished the show (from the applause). Leaving the scene, at the end of the show, you want a few moments to epaneltheis in your normal state (What happens to spectators, many times).
When the theater is empty from the world, looks like a huge fan, like a great, warm embrace, like a spaceship that travels through spacetime. When filling out the world, again it's not like there's anyone.
It's so intense its structure and landscape, that even 10.000 people perish in this magical ship time. There are a few times that I felt to fly at least half a metre over the scene or to sit together with the world (next to it) or to see myself from above.
I'm sure all these have felt and other fellow actors, as though afraid to confess, whether or not the felt, definitely understood that something is not normal and reasonable in this space, where is lost and found everything.
In this space that travels, thou shalt thou shalt not nearly, in the universe, but at the same time press and very sturdy in the sacred soil of the Orchestra, serving the vision of an ancient poet who wrote the work.
All ancient tragedies were written about this theater and played yet, have in the gods and humans, such as Epidavros: Divine and very human, magical but also very cooperative, Unreal but also strongly present through time.
Perhaps our only contact with another world, that exists at the edge of our minds, a world of imaginary, a world unique, full of emotions, full of values, full of mystery.
A theater unique to our planet, that sends messages in the hallway of the universe, that opens up avenues of thought for the wise men of all time.
A theater that maybe made from above and that will surely exists in space-time forever. A colleague, with which we played together, had told me: "we Sotiris, We don't have to fear nothing from now on, because we saw God in the face».
The ancient theater is one link that unites the today and tomorrow with today. A unique contact with another world, with another sky, with other "beings", you might as well be created, leaving their marks, everywhere!»
